## Description

The Optimus Polaris Optifuel is a single burner multifuel expedition stove built for global adventures. Essential expedition camping gear, the Polaris runs on virtually any fuel found anywhere on Earth - butane, isobutane, propane, white gas, kerosene, diesel, and jet fuel - all through a single jet with no nozzle changes, no attachments, and no fiddling between fuel types. Flip into 4-season mode for cold-weather cooking; the integrated magnetic cleaning needle clears the jet of fuel residue even while cooking. The patented quick-priming burner cuts pre-heat time and boils a liter of water in roughly 4 minutes at 4200W output. Kit includes the FLIPSTOP pump, multitool, windscreen, heat reflector, and stuff bag. ISPO award-winning design.

Review: Great stove - Great stove, exactly what I'd hoped for. The multifuel aspect makes it so convenient, definitely recommend.
Review: Hot, sturdy, reliable. - I bought this stove with a very specific need: multi-fuel capability without swapping finicky jets/ports so it's easy to use and maintain, without small parts that can be easily lost. Multi-fuel meaning any liquid fuel you can find in the camping section, at a farm, and/or when the power goes out, in addition to hiking canister fuel (upright and upside down). I've used the stove as-is out of the box, but my intention is to fit the stove in my Trangia 27, eventually. Now that you know why I bought this stove, let me tell you how I used it and what i think about it. I've tried it with MSR canister fuel (upright and upside down) and with Coleman white gas from Walmart. I have not yet tried gasoline, diesel, kerosene, or jet fuel. BTUs like nobody's business! It's a hot stove and quickly brings cold tap water to boil. I didn't try it, but i would think simmer isn't really what it does best. I used a 6 quart All-Clad pot filled about 1/2 full with cold tap water. Boiled the water for a few minutes, turned down the heat, and started adding raw vegetables and meat for soup. 6 quart pot was 3/4 full and boiled steady for about 1.5 hours with lid on and no steam coming out. 6 quarts of water weighs 2 pounds (1 kilogram), so 3/4 full is about 1.5 pounds (0.75 kilogram), plus the weight of the All-Clad pot, and the stove was absolutely solid and worked perfectly both times - once with canister fuel and once with white gas. The burner is loud. If you want a quieter stove, there is an aftermarket accessory that will dampen the sound, but you'll never totally silence it. But, "loud" is subjective. Can you talk and cook? Yes, absolutely. Will you disturb Bambi in the beautiful, tranquil, pristine forest and announce to the whole world that you are cooking on a powerful stove that burns pressurized fuel? Yes, absolutely. Can you buy an aftermarket accessory to make it quietER (but not completely silent)? Yes, absolutely. I'll buy a second one, when I can afford it. It's worth it to me to spend the money on a quality and capable product before somebody decides to save production costs and boost revenue by using inferior materials and/or production methods, or decides to completely stop selling the product altogether (both of which has happened to me numerous times). If you're not sure about spending the money but you still want the performance and capability, buy a cheaper stove that you can find. When you become dissatisfied with that stove, I think you'll have a better appreciation for investing your hard earned money in a quality stove that will serve you well.
