Wow -- this energy gum is excellent! I carry some with me on road trips when it's not convenient to stop for coffee. For that matter, it's a lot cheaper than coffee, far less messy, far more portable, and tastes a lot better. It also stores really well for long periods of time. Every traveler should have a pack or two in their glove box. I consider it as essential as a first aid kit. The same principle applies to the office: it can easily be stashed in a desk drawer and broken out for those deadline moments.

I'm not a usually a chewing gum person but, I love this stuff. Jolt gum provides a great boost when my energy is flagging. This latest reformulation tastes great. Better than before, I think. There are so many energy-everythings out there, I'm happy I've found something that doesn't fill me up and I actually like how it tastes.

I ordered Jolt Energy gum out of curiosity. I love the Spearmint flavor! The texture is like any other gum. I'm happy I ordered it!

These things work GOOD. Perfect single doses of caffeine. The taste is similar to regular mint gum, but the first few chews always taste a bit off. It's hard to describe, but the that quick initial taste reminds me of the smell of vitamin bottle when you first open it. The taste is extremely subtle and passes over into pure mint within seconds, but it's there and it's noticeable. I take one or two a day (sometimes none at all) so I don't go through the packs quickly, and I carry them at work in and out of extreme temperatures. As a result, after about 3-4 weeks most of the remaining 12-packs I buy will have gone a bit stale/flat. They still get the job done, but the texture of the gum is just completely different from a fresh pack. This can be avoided by only buying what you need instead of trying to stockpile, though. I'm not sure the caffeine dosage, but the pack says the a single piece is equivalent to a caffeinated soda, with two pieces being similar to downing an energy drink. All in all, I'm not a coffee drinker and couldn't make it through the workday without these things.

I used to chew jolt when I could get it at the gas station. After 10yrs it's hard to draw a direct comparison, but I'd say the flavor is more or less the same, and perfectly fine to me (not gross as others have said). Texture is a tad "wet" maybe, but far better than some other caffeine gum brands that feel like they might dissolve in my mouth, or like chewing a rubber band! In general, I love coffee, but it's hard for me to have less than a full, Strong cup, lol. The caf-gums work, don't trash my stomach, and only one piece is a nice pick-me-up in the afternoon, without keeping me wired until midnight. So far jolt is back to my fav caf-gum, and I'll be ordering again...whenever I run out of this enormous supply!

I decided to try a new brand of energy gum this time around. While the consistency/texture of this gum is better than others, the flavor and other things left little to be desired. To start, the gum is easy to chew. But for some reason, I kept getting canker sores from it. I switched back to my old gum and problem went away. Tried this one again...canker sores. Not sure why. Flavor is gone within first 15 mins and you need to pieces to achieve a “full” dose. Would not buy again.

I dig this product. In fact, I feel SUPER AMPED UP (probably because I had too many pieces of gum!). My heart may explode, but I wanted to get this review out first. Not a bad idea for someone who doesn't have the freedom to make a cup of coffee or tea, not to mention all of that liquid if you need to take a long drive or are stuck in traffic or a meeting. Plus, as someone who takes 5-6 packets of sugar with each mug of coffee, that would be like 15-18 sugar packets in the course of a single day and three cups of coffee. That's just plain nuts. So now I can pop a piece or two when I am feeling sleepy and it works very quickly; and you can regulate how much caffeine you take by the piece count - the more pieces the more caffeine. Just be careful; it is far too easy to eat a few pieces and then forget, and eat a few more, and...you get the idea. But for those dips in energy, and a quick way to freshen your breath, this is a great way to go. Warning: I got the Spearmint flavor and it does contain artificial sweeteners (sucralose & aspartame-acesulfame salt), so if that ain't your bag, try another flavor/brand.
