Nothing better at this price point.
You know what? For the price and what is included, this is an absolute BARGAIN! Comes with a padded gig bag and a felt pich filled with a brand new cable, strap, fresh strings, string dampener and tools for adjustment. Guitar looks like a £1000+ Mayones too and feels great to play right out of the box, BUT..... you can "feel the price" if that makes sense. It is VERY light and flexes easily making it feel like it would break/snap without much effort, but I'm also a 300lbs guy that plays 7 String Schecters so maybe a need to practice a lighter play style for this guitar aha. Sound is okay, not the best so would recommend changing pickups to something beefier for higher gain styles like metal. Great for everything else though. Has a really nice matte black finish but it's a fingerprint magnet for sure. All in all, for the price point, can't complain at all. Doubt you could find anything brand new at this price that looks like this and comes with the extras. Only 4 stars just because of the flexing and feeling like it could break easily, but don't let that put you off, I'm a big guy so could just be me used to playing 7 String for so long.

Poor quality!
I'm disappointed with the guitar I received. It was filthy straight out the box, I had to immediately change the strings as a string was snapped, it had cosmetic issues with the body's finish and a permanent black mark on the fretboard that wouldn't come off and the frets are not centred on the fretboard. The saddles on the bridge are at there lowest yet the string action is still a bit high for my taste. I bought this as a spare guitar but it's just not that good. Pickups don't sound terrible for a budget guitar but the frets are terrible and it just feels cheap, I wish I just saved up a little more and got an Ibanez or Jackson as I know that they are quality instruments. Also the fretboard feels dry even after cleaning and conditioning it. It was also setup terrible when I received it with all the saddles out of place and a huge amount of relief in the neck which I'm guessing would put a beginner off. If you buy it and there isn't any of the issues I've mentioned than I'd say its worth it's price point but I just wish the quality was just a little better. Ive had it for about 2 weeks so had time to clean, restring and set it up to the best it can be and had time to test it so I could make a fair review of it. I think quality control and the setup and storage of the guitars needs to be a bit better for these to be considered good budget guitars. I'd say its a fair budget guitar for the price but donner should make sure the quality control is much better and they are at least setup properly. Sadly I've had to return it. I would not recommend this guitar for an intermediate to advanced player and if your a beginner than get it setup properly but unless you know somebody than it could cost you even more money so you might as well have just got an ibanez. Overall its OK for the price but the quality should still be a bit better since its was still over 100 pound. I still gave it 3 stars as 2 might have been a little harsh as there not terrible once setup and you get some nice accessories with it and a bag. Shame I had to return it tbh!

Didn't like it
I watched youtube videos about this guitar and got hyped up but I got it and I wasn't that impressed. The black matt finish was terrible. The wood was obviously not sanded properly closer to the strings and your skin just stays on it and is difficlt to wipe off - nasty. I thought it's soft touch matt finish but it was just matt. The other thing - the sound... it wasn't accurate so when I tuned it like... 5 times, stretched the strings a bit - nothing changed and it was off significantly when pressing chords. Guitar do have that problem in general but... just coudln't make it right enough - maybe my skill is the problem somewhere. Also I needed to buy an amp for it separately and some other guitars with better wood finish come with an amp. No picks neither. The only thing that I liked about this guitar was the cable - it was a decent cable can tell you that.

Bonne guitare.

GET THIS OVER SQUIER
I didn't WANT to buy this guitar, but I couldn't resist. $159 during the Black Friday sale...as compared to $258 during Donner's OWN Black Friday sale. I had actually been eyeing this up for a while. I wanted a "metal" guitar, just for the aggression factor. When Fenderplay was having a deal where you get a free guitar if you sign up for lessons, I jumped on it. for $150, I got a Squier strat, amp, etc....basic stuff for a beginner, thought I'm not a beginner. I had already planned on modding the strat, so I got a HH pickguard and put some Fishman Fluence Moderns in it. It's a good guitar, but certainly not a "pro level" guitar. SO...fast forward to Black Friday, and I see this nifty little Donner that I had been looking at...I figured, what the heck, at least I can mod it. I already have a set of Seymour Duncan Invaders that I planned on putting in it. BUT....I'm not sure I will, now. Shipping was good, it arrived a day earlier than expected. Nothing was wrong with the box, and visual inspection didn't show any problems. Flat black all around, with a dark fretboard. The headstock is REALLY small, like smaller than Musicman small. I was planning on putting Hipshot tuners on it, but just looking at it, I know that the mounting plate won't fit. Nice straight string pull through the nut to the pegs. Everything on the guitar is blacked out, which I like. It comes with a few cool little extras, like the string dampener. The gig bag is usable, but there are certainly better ones out there. So....I start test driving it. There are no sharp fret ends. In fact, the fingerboard seems to be somewhat rolled. It's very comfortable. After tuning it up, I tested for dead frets. Played up the entire neck and couldn't find ANY dead spots. Decided to attempt some alternate tunings. Drop D worked well. D Standard was good, and even in Drop C, there was no fret buzz. Took off the back panel to investigate and there's a pretty cool quick connect system. A PCB board mounted to the 2 pots, with 4 quick connects for the switch, jack, and both pickups. At high gain, there's a noticeable buzzing, which is expected. I just need to turn the noise gate up higher for these pickups than I do the Fishmans. The pickups are slightly microphonic as well. I could hear the screws on the backplate being unscrewed when I left it plugged in, so any bumping will be noticeable at high gain, again, depending on the noise gate. The buzzing is there, but not prevalent on a clean setup. I wanted to be as detailed as possible to provide the best review I could. Overall, I'd say that of the 2 guitars, I would regret the Squier purchase more. I bought both guitars strictly to mod and make them what I want to make them. The Squier required more work than I anticipate with the Donner. The main thing that will need attention is the tuners, they have some play in them, so you have to tune down, then back up to pitch to tighten up the mechanical slack in them...you can definitely feel it when tuning. If you want to get a guitar for a beginner, I would highly suggest this one. I didn't really need to set up anything on it at all to get it working. As I said, neck feels good, frets are fine, didn't check intonation completely, but up and down the fretboard it seems on point. I love the hipshot style bridge, as I've installed the real thing on many guitars. The most important part of a guitar for a beginner is always going to be the neck. If it's uncomfortable to play, then the won't. This one does not disappoint at all.
