Panicked and took it to the dealer, they took it off and told me you can blow through it with no resistance like a straw (stuck open - they gave it back to me and I verified this). Turns out my original valve was bad and this one was far worse. Now I'm out $600 by the time you get through the dealer's part, labor, fees, etc. My friend described it as a "purge valve shaped object" due to how worthless it was as an actual purge valve. Highly frustrated.
