"We Believe...": A Survey of the Catholic Faith

I'm a "spiritual but not religious" guy from a Jewish family, but my wife is Catholic, and I'm going to help her raise our children Catholic. I read this book cover to cover and will surely refer to it many times in years to come. It is VERY easy to read and understand, and yet it is filled with detail and references. I know that some of it is out of date (the info about Purgatory, for example). Also, I wouldn't have minded additional comparisons to Protestantism. But no matter - the book is great. It covers the basics and builds from there.

This book is an excellent resource for faith enrichment studies. It is out of print, and Hawthorne provided a good-as-new used copy. It was also delivered quickly. Great service, as I’ve come to expect and always appreciate.

For cradle Catholic who have "forgotten" teachings, or those who are adults looking in to Catholicism. Light reading. Solid material.

This is a favorite book of mine, I just gave one away, to a young man leaving for Iraq, so this is a replacement. I use it often in teaching and recommend it for personal use for those who like to study on their own, or who can't get to regular meetings or study groups. All of Fr. Lukefahr books are helpful in learning and teaching about the faith.

Excellent, easy-to-read summary of Catholic life, belief, and worship.Can be great intro for anyone exploring Catholic faith or joining the Church through adult baptism or from another tradition.Cross-referenced with scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.Highly recommend.

Want to know more in a nut shell or be introduced to Catholicism? Then I highly recommend this book, but please realize there is more to know and understand, and this book may very well pique your curiosity to know more and understand better.
