Absolutely phenomenal quality for my scoop

I was previously using a wood handle I got from the hardware store for my CKG scoop but it was really heavy. Decided to pick this up to try and cut weight and wow did it ever. Took it out for the first time this morning and it was night and day, and the smaller diameter actually ended up being more comfortable. There must have been a few versions because I had ZERO issues with flex and I was digging wet sand full of shells and it never felt like it was having trouble at all. This version does have a metal lining st least at the bottom. The only issue I had was the hole didn’t line up with the hole on my CKG scoop so I had to cut off about 1/8 “ from the bottom Of the pole to get it to fit. And the bolt and nut they sent was cheesy but it works. I’d buy it again.

The shaft has held up well after a year of use. It didnt snuggly fit in my scoop as I would have expected but still works well

I had read a review that someone had a hard time drilling the hole for the screw. I used a concrete drill bit and it took no time at all to get the hole drilled. I love this handle. It is lite weight and sturdy as can be. I metal detect the beaches of Okinawa, Japan and there are lots of rocks and coral. My handle has held up smashingly. I was a little nervous after I ordered it because I saw a YouTube video where someone complained how slick their handle was when it got wet. I dug in the water last night and this handle was not slick at all. I use dive gloves when I detect so that may be why I wasn't having an issue with slickness. One last tip, when I was putting the handle on my scoop, I couldn't decide if the spring button that holds the two parts together(in the middle of the pole) should face forward or backward. I decided to have it face backward. This was very helpful last night when I was digging in the dark in the water because I could tell which way my scoop was oriented. Finally, because the scoop is in two pieces, you can easily travel with your scoop, it will fit in a larger suite case. I highly recommend this handle for your sand scoop.

After a while my metal detector starts to feel heavy. My wife got me this carbon handle after she read about them being so light and strong. It is durable and fits perfect. I don't ever worry about it breaking when I am digging up piles of sand.

Just recieved with the smaller CKG sand scoop and I am impressed on how light it all is . Will be easy to carry around all day . The handle seems well made . Nice work CKG.
