Easy Easy Easy
Update-Almost subtracted one star. After a few weeks of use, the measuring marks on the little cup have almost totally worn off. i remarked with a sharpie, but even those are wearing off. I have just remarked with my sharpie, but this time I have added clear packaging tape to see if that helps protect the marks. I have also checked the measurements by pouring into my measuring spoons so I will know what to use if I totally lose the marks on the little cup. Hard boiled = 5T + 1t. Poached = 4T. Soft boiled = 2T + 2t. Don't use it to cook scrambled eggs so I didn't measure that. Still love the thing! Note: because I am using more eggs, they are fresher when hard boiled than the first batch I fixed, and the fresher eggs are much easier to peel. --------- Original review Easy to use. Easy to clean. Makes perfect poached eggs. I no longer overcook my hard boiled eggs. I use grade "large" eggs. For hard boiled, I use just a bit more water (about an extra 1/8 inch). They are not as easy to peel as some people say, but they aren't hard to peel either. Got this because I was buying pre-cooked & peeled hard boiled eggs. They, like everything else, have gotten more expensive. With this little gadget I can cook them whenever I want, it's fast and easy, and I don't have to go to the store. I just keep a good supply of raw eggs on hand and we get our protein for much less cost. We have definitely been eating more eggs. I love poached eggs, but they were always too much trouble to fix. This makes poached eggs a snap-I've been having them every morning now! There is an omelet attachment, but it's pretty tiny. I usually use 4-6 eggs for an omelet, plus meat, veggies & cheese. I think it would only be good for 2 or maybe three scrambled eggs, or, like I said, a tiny omelet. Don't know how long this will last, but I WILL be getting a replacement when it dies! Highly recommend.

Best for Steaming Eggs in the Shell
I love this egg cooker for “hardboiled,” (steamed, I guess) eggs. If I use the recommended amount of water, turn the cooker off as soon as it beeps, and cool the eggs of in cold water immediately, they are perfect every time, and they’re super easy to peel. I didn’t have much luck with the mini-omelet or just cooking the eggs out of the shell. For the price and the convenience of steaming the eggs in the shell, I am very happy with this. If you spray any oil for an omelet-type thing (reviewer-recommended), cleanup is a bit messy, but for cooking them in the shells, it is super quick and easy.

Great, except for the instructions.
First Use: Eggs turned out awesome, easy to peal and perfectly hard. For 4 Extra Large, (XL) eggs I increased the water to the full amount on of the measuring cup and left the eggs in the cooker for an additional 5 minutes after it finished. I would have given 5 stars if the directions for XL eggs were detailed in the instruction book, instead of more water more time. Overall, I am very satisfied. I will definitely be making more deviled eggs.

Awesome Egg Cooker
I purchased this item to replace a Cuisinart egg cooker that I had for 21 years. I was a bit nervous because I really wanted another Cuisinart, but their unit was too large. My item arrived promptly, and was well-packaged. I reviewed the enclosed user manual, which I found to be well-written. The measuring cup/egg piercer was easy to read, and use. I like the large cap that covers the pin, which makes it difficult to accidentally lose. I ran the cooker with 6 eggs on the Hard Boil cycle. I liked that the lid is see-through, so I could keep an eye on the eggs. The cycle didn't take long and the alarm was loud enough to be easily heard. The unit automatically shut off, but the alarm kept sounding until I physically turned the cooker off. The lid, the egg rack and the other accessories have handles strategically placed to avoid receiving any nasty burns. I found peeling the eggs very easy, and cleanup of the cooker was a breeze. A couple of the eggs did leak a little out of the pin holes. I intend to follow the manual's suggestion of turning them over and piercing the larger end for the next cooking. I'm extremely impressed with this egg cooker and I highly recommend it. I hope my detailed review helps others with their decision.

If you live alone, I would say it's worth it
It's easy to use to boil or steam eggs, you would still have to soaked the eggs in ice water to make it easy to peel but other than that it's pretty versatile because it functions also as a steamer for veggies or dumpling or such instead of a whole pot or steamer and not just for eggs

Great bang for the buck!!
I love this!! Great bang for the buck! I’d have bought this years ago, if I had known how well it works. It’s a tiny little thing, which is great for an RV. I read a lot of reviews about this type of egg cooker, including those that are much more expensive. The typical complaints were basically the same regardless of price point, so I decided if the expensive versions didn’t really perform better, why spend the extra cash?! Some of what I saw was typically user error or those anomalous things like getting an “open box” item when expecting something new, but I will address some of that here. Regarding the scorched bottom and smell. The plate is stainless steel. As with any stainless steel, scorching can occur when the water boils down. The instructions clearly state to turn it off when the alarm goes off. If you don’t, it will scorch the bottom. My first time, I did delay in turning it off, so I had a bit of a scorched bottom. I lifted the eggs out, set them in a bowl under cool water and immediately used the little water cup to put water in the bottom to loosen the scorching. Within the few minutes I spent peeling the eggs (which was very easy), the water had done its job. I poured the water out and wiped it with a clean towel and it was fine. One other pointer - if you use hard tap water, you will likely get hard water stains on the plate from the water boiling out. If those stains bother you, use distilled water. I did cook 7 eggs my first time and I used just a little more water than the mark indicated for hard boiled eggs. They came out beautiful and I only needed cool tap water to loosen the shells for peeling. No ice bath was necessary. The instructions said the pin prick was optional, so I opted to NOT prick them to see what happened. One egg had a hairline crack so the egg expanded the shell a bit, but it all stayed self contained. It just ended up having a slightly wonky shape (it’s the one I cut open that doesn’t have the perfectly oval shape). The one thing I cannot comment on is the longevity of the appliance, since I just took it out on its first test drive. If it suddenly breaks down, I will update this review.

Satisfecho
