Fantastic device for an OpenWrt router
This thing is a beast as a homemade router running SQM on OpenWrt. I purchased the low-end 8Gb RAM/120Gb SSD and used it to replace a TP-Link AX11000. The gaming, browsing, and streaming experiences all improved substantially across all of our home devices…. Everything is SO responsive now; I honestly didn’t expect such an improvement and I also didn’t realize how unbelievably crappy consumer router CPUs are, even ones branded as “gaming routers”. Went from an “A” to an “A+” on a bufferbloat test immediately after enabling SQM, and after some small optimizations it produced a flawless +0ms latency difference under load both down and up, while only nominally reducing my maximum throughput. That’s with a Spectrum 1Gb cable plan btw…. I can’t wait to upgrade to a different fiber ISP coming to town later this year cuz I know this thing will be ready to rock.

Doesn't have a ground, don't buy.
Do yourself a favor and don't. These are made WITHOUT grounds. When you have any kind of an electrical storm come through or rough power outages, be-prepared to have serious unexpected damage happen. For the same price you could buy a used blade server with significantly more power (and therefore performance) AND a ground built in. Lots of time wasted on such a silly problem. Put in a ground for god sakes. This is 2025 and a customer is having to tell you not having a ground is bad? (Network switches are usually the worst offender).

It's a BRICK and that's good. Wonderful physical build quality
I am super happy with this router / vpn appliance. It is clear that Protecli put a lot of thought into the design of this product. No plastic, all metal heat sink machined extrusion. It's solid as a rock and easy to set up. I especially appreciate that the AMI bios appears on both the console port and the HDMI display. If I have one gripe it's that the console serial port is over usb micro (yuck) and uses a non standard usb-serial driver that must be installed (not something you want to be dealing with during disaster recovery). OpenVPN throughput with AES-256-GCM well above 500Mbit with DCO turned on in OPNSense using iperf3. Overall super happy with the quality of this mini PC / Router / Firewall box.

Monster Build quality - Great device for PFsense
Purchased the base unit with 8 gig ram and 120gb NVME. Easy setup and installation of PFsence - took all of maybe 10minutes. Had a basic PFsence firewall up and running in no time. Installed some packages and configuration was easy peasy. Did I mention this thing is built like a tank? Upgrades are easy too. Removing 4 screws on the bottom plate gives easy access to RAM and M.2 NVME drives. Couldn't be happier with purchase.

Solid router
Love mine, doesn't even run hot. CPU at like 2% for over 300 devices, 5 VLans and filters.
