Quick and easy to use and does a good job
I bought this to seal my single pair of birks back in May and never did it. Well, now I have 5 pairs of birks and finally used. I’m very pleased! I wasn’t sure what the consistency would be like and how far it would go for a single bottle, but after all 5 pairs, with some getting double coats, I still have more than half the bottle left, so it’ll go quite a while. My oldest pair of birks has moderate cork breakdown, but after applying a couple coats of this, I now feel much less like every step is just shedding cork—that is, the weak spots are all very secure now. There’s no smell, no color (it’s clear), and it goes a long way for the money. Attached is a pic of one of the pairs I sealed a few days ago. They look great!

Great for Birks
Update: I got caught in a thunderstorm wearing my newly sealed Birkenstock Gizeh sandals. The leather upper and my feet were soaked but the cork layer remained dry. This works. Original Review: I purchased this Cadillac Cork Sealer to use on my Birkenstock sandals. I chose this product as it was recommended on a forum over the sealer kit sold by Birkenstock for the same purpose. I used vinegar to clean the cork, let it dry thoroughly and then applied the Cadillac Cork Sealer. This was easy to apply. It goes on white and dries clear and shiny. It's similar in consistency to Elmer's white glue. This darkened the cork and made it shiny, but not obnoxiously so. I'm very happy with this product.

Does the job economically
I used this on older Birks and it really seals them well. I'm sorry I didn't get this sooner.

Satisfied for cork fishing rod handles
Worked for a light conditioning, which was what I wanted. Would be 5 star but needs careful application for this use. Used for four new handles and one fifty year old rod. The old one was cleaned with a wet pad and allowed to dry, the new handles were wiped down with a dry cloth. Masked off around the cork. Applied the treatment with sponge foam brushes. Put it on a little thick, then wiped off the excess with the edge of the foam. Left it just looking wet, then let it dry. Was slightly tacky at a half hour, dry after a few hours. Wiped down with a dry cloth and it's a nice surface, only slightly different than the raw cork. The color is slightly darker than the raw cork.I don't consider it a heavy duty seal, just a surface conditioning. If you need a durable seal should probably use polyurethane or similar. But for what I was doing very satisfied

Easy to apply, and plenty to use for years to come.
I bought some Birkenstock sandals about a year ago, and was told at the shop that I would need to apply cork sealer in about a year, when the cork portion was no longer shiny. Well, once this summer came around, it became dull and wasn't shiny, so I looked into purchasing a cork sealer, and this is what I decided on. It's simple to use. You brush it on, you let it dry for a few hours, and you're good to go. That's it. It made the cork shiny and smooth again, and it seems to be properly sealed. I have no complaints.

NOT FOR FISHING RODS!!!
Absolutely the worst product I've ever purchased on Amazon...DO NOT i repeat DO NOT use this on cork handled fishing rods. It leaves handles slick and zero protection from the elements. Spent hours removing this gunk from several of my high dollar rods ended up ruining 2 of them. To say im disappointed would be a gross understatement.

Price
Really thin, you kinda have to glob in on your birds if you want a good coat on them

Container not filled adequately!!
Product seems to revitalize cork nicely. Does not take overly long to dry. However, for the price which is expensive, I would expect that the container be filled to a reasonable level, which it is not. I tried to take a picture to show what I’m referring to however, it’s hard to demonstrate. If you look past the neck of the container, you can see that the product doesn’t start until much further below.

So bad
This is the worst by far that I have ever used. There was no seal on the bottle and what was inside was like water. I applied 2 coats and I tell you this had to be water in the bottle not Cork sealer.
