Bright and Modern Floor Lamp with Great Light Control—but Not Perfect Longevity
Bright and Modern Floor Lamp with Great Light Control—but Not Perfect Longevity The Brightech Sky Flux is one of those floor lamps that really transforms a dim room. I’ve used it in my office and living room, and it easily lights an entire space that would otherwise need multiple lamps. The LED light is powerful (up to 2700 lumens) and gives you three color temperatures—warm, soft white, and daylight—which is surprisingly useful. The touch-sensitive dimmer works well and makes it easy to adjust brightness with just a tap or hold. The design is sleek and minimal, blending nicely with modern décor. Assembly is simple and tool-free, and the base feels stable enough that it doesn’t wobble, even on carpet. The head also tilts slightly, which helps direct the light where it’s needed. That said, the controls can be a bit finicky—the touch sensor sometimes needs multiple taps to respond—and a few users (myself included after a year or so) have noticed occasional flicker or dimming issues, likely from internal wear. For the price, it’s still a good value, but it may not have the long lifespan the specs promise. Bottom line: A stylish, bright, and adjustable floor lamp that performs well and looks great, but expect some quirks with the controls and potential durability concerns over time.

This should be $35. Comparison to Tenergy lamp is as follows
I bought this lamp, and also bought a similar Tenergy version: Tenergy Torchiere Dimmable LED Floor Lamp, Remote Controlled 30W (150W Equivalent) Standing Lamp with Stepless Touch Dimmer, Two-Part Trip-Proof Cable, 90° Adjustable Top, Warm White Light Here are the differences: Cons of the Brightech vs. the Tenergy: * The Brightech is TOO SHORT! I'm only 5'5" and can see the top of it from a few steps away. The Tenergy is a little taller. * The Brightech head can tilt, but not very much, while the Tenergy head tilts/rotates in any direction at up to a full 90 degrees. * The Brightech base is not very heavy, so the lamp is wobbly and unstable. The Tenergy base is significantly heavier, thus the lamp is much more stable. * The Brightech has both fewer "steps" and a narrower range, than the Tenergy, in other words: * The Tenergy can adjust both brighter and dimmer than the Brightech is capable of, and in a smoother fashion. The Tenergy has approx. 18 levels of brightness adjustment. * The Brightech has a cheap plastic LED lens with no frost/diffusion. The Tenergy has a nice GLASS lens that is frosted for better light diffusion. Pros of the Brightech vs. the Tenergy: * The Brightech has 3 color temperatures, 3000k, 4000k, and 5000k. The Tenergy is 3000k only. * The Brightech is PARTIALLY compatible with a wall-switched outlet - when you flip the wall switch on, the lamp turns on, but unfortunately it "boots" to 3000k color and full brightness - it cannot remember your last setting if you turn the wall switch off (or unplug it). The Tenergy will NOT turn on with a wall-switched outlet at all.

Underwhelmed
I am a little disappointed in this lamp. I was happy it came quickly. The parts and pieces did not seem cheap. It was easy to put together. But... Meh? I didn't expect bright side of the world brightness but it was below my expectations. My biggest "complaint" is the power/dimmer switch. Maybe it's why I am underwhelmed by the brightness but there just seems to be a little too much complication in getting the light to come on and getting it to be bright enough. Yeah I checked could not find any remote control which I think would have been beneficial to make sure I had the light at full brightness but it didn't appear to be one in the box I will check again to see if I missed. Overall I was expecting it to light my room up to a level 9 but it was barely to 7.5. And I was really wanting to Like this light. To be honest the other day I picked up a LED three-lamp screw into a normal bulb socket attachment at TJMAxx I plugged it into a wired light bulb thing and it provides a lot more light to my room than this lamp.

I like this lamp as a replacement for our 300 Watt ...
I like this lamp as a replacement for our 300 Watt incandescent torchiere, but there are a few downsides. The control is really cumbersome. You do have to cycle between the three color temps and Off. And then hold for dimmer and hold again for brighter. I'm not tech averse, but a two button or button and slider set of controls would have been a lot nicer and made it a lot easier. On/Off and dimming should be a primary control, and then changing the color temp should be a secondary function, as you typically decide on a color temp and leave that alone. I moved this unit to my back office bedroom where it now works on a wall switch, but even that has a drawback where it doesn't remember the desired color temp or brightness setting. It always reverts to the warmest setting. This after my wife exclaimed, "Oh wow, the bright white (the coolest temp) works great in here. I powered the wall switch off and on again and it came back to the warmer yellow. Oh well. And last but not least, it really should be a few inches higher. I'm not even 6 feet tall and I can see the LEDs on the top surface. I'd really rather not. My old torchieres were slightly higher. Update: After ordering the Globe Electric LED Floor Lamp Torchiere, Energy Star Certified, Dimmable Super Bright, 43W, 3000 Lumens, Black Satin Finish for the livingroom, and seeing it in action, I lowered the review on this to 3 stars. This new unit is a lot classier looking, slightly taller so that one isn't looking at the light source is slightly above eye level, has a much more solid view, and is a lot easier to control, albiet it does not have color temperature control, which I'm not missing. Unless you need the color temp variants, get the Globe Electric brand light.
