I love how fast and easy these are to apply. Working in my garage or in my workshop, lacerations are a constant risk, and a nearby first aid kit is a must. After cleaning the cut, applying this wound closure strip is a breeze compared to trying to hold the wound closed with one hand while bandaging it up with my other hand. These adhere well and keep the wound tightly closed so that it can heal quickly without me having to stop what I'm working on to go to the ER and get stitches. This size is for use with minor lacerations. These three wound closure devices are in a zip lock package, and each device is individually wrapped inside the package. The illustrated instructions on how to apply the device is printed on the outer packed along with a QR code that will also give instructions. The illustrated instructions for use are also printed on each individual package inside. In addition, there is also a printed illustrated instruction sheet inside the package, and that instruction sheet also includes the QR code with full instructions. They are certainly thorough. I'm a definite fan of these, and recommend them as a good addition to anyone's home medical supplies.

Let me start by saying the 3 stars is completely due to price, as these are easily twice what they need to be. I understand they are brand name and they really are very high quality, but that can't justify $8.32/ea ($24.95 for 3 at time of review, and that's ON SALE!) The Good: * I have used these in the past, and they are definitely innovative and easier to use that traditional butterfly "stitches" * Strong adhesive, although you absolutely need a clean, dry area around the wound. Once nice thing about these is there is a "long" adhesive strip so as long as most of it is able to attach well, it will hold * Individually packaged. This sounds dumb, but so many butterfly stitches come with 3-5 in a single package and once you open it, they are no longer stale and have to be thrown away unless used immediately. These don't suffer from that problem. The Meh: * They are limited in the size of wound you can cover and are really only for lacerations and especially for something not overly deep. * If there is hair around the wound, that can be an issue for adhesion as it can cause the strip to be loose or move. The "extreme" adhesive is a little better at this, but comes with the following caveat... * If there is hair around the wound when you use/attach these...there won't be when you take them off. The adhesive is absolutely going to pull the hair. See "The Verdict" below on ways to limit that. The Bad: * The price. High enough that it's costing them a star on the review. The brand (DermaClip) has been around for quite a while, and while the single-handed capability of the DermaQuick is new, it's not that new (it was released in 2020). There are already copycats out there, including single-handed use, that are 1/2 to 1/4 the price. The Verdict: I love this brand and I like this specific product, not the least of which is the ability to use it one-handed. That said, the price is out of control. I recommend the brand as they are absolutely high quality, but I am having a real hard time recommending these just due to the cost. As for remediating the pulled hair, these aren't designed for life threatening injuries. Which means, you should have the time to properly clean the area before attaching them...which means you should have the time (and if you are hairy you should TAKE the time) to shave the area. Assuming this is in a first aid kit, many come with a simple razor for just that purpose as most adhesives don't do well on hairy areas. Trust me, you will NOT get this off without yanking out any hair it is stuck to.

For deep cuts this is a must have item in my camping first aid kit. I take my kids to places that are far off grid and might need to be able to dress a deep cut without stitches for a few days. These are pricey but totally worth the peace of mind.

Great set of bandages with a good hold to them. I like the idea of these, they are a little pricey but they are worth it when you need them. These aren't your average bandages that you use on boo boos, these are for cuts that you should almost get a stitch in it, or in my case have someone that's on blood thinners to help control the bleeding. I like the fact that they hold on to your skin without any issues and all you do is pull the out sides of the wounds towards the center and let the strips hold the affected area together. I'm keeping these in our First Aid kit just because you never know when you're going to need them.

Hello friends, I selected this dermaquik three strip laceration butterfly bandage for a first aid kit. These laceration strips are so expensive but they are useful when needed. They are super handy for keeping in your medical bag for when you're on a hiking trip far from medical reach. Serious hiking accidents typically result in rock cuts. Make sure you educate yourself before you use one. Clean the area as much as possible with plain water or iodine, and then lay the strips out and push them together to hold the wound shut. It holds better than a bandage and provides support to the wound area until it can be seen. Great tool but expensive to not use properly.

I got these DermaQuik Wound Closure Strips for my home first aid kit. My husband works outdoors and on a farm often, and is constantly cutting, puncturing or otherwise wounding himself. He rarely uses bandaids as they just don't stay on long enough and end up unsanitary as dirt and debris get underneath them. DermaQuik wound closure strips are built different. You apply it to the clean, affected site, and then press the two ends together to seal it. Air flow to the site is maintained, but the wound is kept closed until healing occurs. The strips are easy to place, and easy to remove, without pulling, irritation, or pain. Due to the way these strips work at healing the wound, it reduces the chances of scarring, which is a significant upgrade over adhesive bandages. Personally, I think no first aid kit should be without them!

I have 2 rowdy boys, and you never know when you might need something like this. These wound closure devices are one of those “better to have it and not need it” products. I have (thankfully) not had the need to use these yet. But they do give me peace of mind knowing they will be there when I need them. I would say that these are a great value for the money. As far as functionality goes, like I said I have fortunately not had to use these yet. But, I have had very similar products in the past and they worked great. Definitely recommend these!

At the current price of $19.96 ($24.95 minus 20%), this comes to $6.65 per bandage. This is very pricey but typical. However, a bandage like this is invaluable to have in one's medicine cabinet or first aid kit. These are perfect for small wounds of a couple of inches that are on wide areas of the skin, like the thighs. These are not for the fingers or toes or areas of the body where the bandage ties would stick out. There are two zip ties in each bandage but the bandage acts like a door that closes. After removing the bandage from the package, I actually pushed the zip ties against each other so that the bandage opened a little further and then placed it firmly on my skin. Once that was done, I pressed the edges (or door) together until it popped up in the center and closed/snapped into place. This isn't like similar bandages where the zip ties are pulled in opposite directions to close the wound. However, it is not easy to use bandages like these until one gets used to applying them and wasting one is very expensive. These take the place of the old butterfly stitch I used to use by crossing two bandages in an X fashion to close a wound and they are a lot better at holding a wound closed. Unfortunately, these are not for every area of the body as the zip tie ends will be sticking out on the bandage.
