This product works absolutely amazingly. I bought it for my turtle tank because their skin sheds over time and creates a nasty film on the surface — this skimmer cleared it right up. It feels durable, completely safe for the turtles, and the suction cups are way stronger than I expected (much better than the weak ones on other gear I own). On top of that, it’s dead silent and took me maybe five minutes total to assemble and give a quick pre-use clean. Couldn’t ask for better performance.

This is really doing a great job as an adjunct filtering system. It takes all the dust and varied stuff and filters it off the top. Additionally, it adds a little more water action to the far side of the tank..it was super easy to set up and runs quietly. I heard alot of good things about this product from my fb friends and I'm glad I tried it!

Clears the top layer of my aquarium with an excellent efficiency. Definitely a maintenance item because the sponge filter gets full quite often and I need to clean it weekly but it’s easy to do and well worth it for a crystal clear top layer. Night and day difference when this thing is off for a few days.

Have surface scum? Get this and it will be gone in about ten minutes. Very impressed and works as advertised. I give this four stars and not five because my red cherry shrimp LOVE to get inside the filter screen. I have done some research on how to prevent them from getting in but the setup of the floating ring around the filter screen is a bit of a challenge to DIY a extra shield as i have seen in other brands.

No extra filters and needs to be cleaned out once a day. It would nice if they even included at least 1 extra filter. Stupid purchase

I have a saltwater reef tank, that does not have a sump, I use a canister filter. Unfortunately, even with gyres on top on either side, and a hang on the back skimmer, I was still left with a film on the surface of the water that I just couldn’t get rid of. That is until I came across this! This is super easy to use and sets up in minutes! I plugged it in and within minutes, no more surface film! It’s like magic! Another great feature of this unit, is that it’s SUPER easy to clean! The little pad is on the top, and with the provided tweezers that come with it, it’s as easy as it gets! Every other surface skimmer out there, the pad is inside the unit, and you pretty much need to stick your hand in the water and fight with it, disrupting everything…but not this one! I’d HIGHLY recommend this to anyone looking to remove surface film! You will not be disappointed! Thank you Oase for making a great product! This has been one of the most helpful purchases I’ve ever made for my tank!

Help. This worked intermittently for a few months then has gotten worse over time. Now 6 months later and it is useless. Please help. I'm leaving a temporary 3 star review. See video.

I bought this to swap out my hob system with worked great for about a half hour then it stopped feeding throw the top. I noticed a flaw in the design being the middle section is not sealed properly to the base it starts to suck water from the small hole for the power cord and around were it clips in. It is a nice skimmer but needs and update I will be doing my own tweaking to this one to made it work properly

Works very well. I needed something to skim the bio oils from the water surface of my freshwater aquarium. Very well made and works exactly as i wanted. With multiple (large) tanks I need several more. Highly recommended.
