Simply underrated that I actually had to check out who wrote this as I was pleasantly surprised with how great this book is. It’s fascinating, easy to read, well written, informative. It has a superb balance of the personal human dynamics, shaping the real people in the story and giving them life, combined with the technical aspects and dynamics between the regulatory, commercial, biotechnology, financial investors etc. Must read!!

One rarely comes accross a book on science and its translation into the market place that is, not only "interesting" but at the same time a page-turner, that keeps you up at night because you want to know the next twist in the story. Better than fiction! Hubert from Germany

As a researcher in pharmaceuticals, I loved that Vardi managed to explain all the factors that impact the discovery and development of drugs. Going from the scientific hypotheses, to recruiting patients, dealing with governance, funding, FDA, investors, and personal life events. We often have the impression that drug discovery is merely a process, and that people just need to go "from left to right" to get the approval of a new drug but it is clearly not, and the author succedeed in explaining how this field works. Brilliant.

Well written look at how money drives the creation and development of life saving cancer drugs. Big or little, pharma needs a business reason to develop these medications
