Very rich/deep in color looking, love it. Only caveats, this is not a same day stain kit, considering you will have to apply two coats of stain and two coats of top coat. It took me more like four days as I wanted the door completely dry between coats. On the fiberglass doors, you sometimes have to "paint" on areas where the stain doesn't take as uniform as the rest of the door. Looks great as a finished product. I had to strip the old non-therma tru stain off both sides of the door which was quite the process. For that, I'd suggest to apply a stripper, then within two minutes use a wet (important) nylon brush and scrub the old stain or paint off. This will not get everything off. Apply more stripping agent, wait two minutes, get remaining stain off with a magic eraser. This is key and a good trick I discovered. The kit comes with 2 measly staining rags, you will use about 5 old t-shirts to complete a door. One can of stain that was included finished exactly one door. If you are also staining sidelights, you will need two cans despite the kit stating its enough for door + sidelights. That said, there is plenty of top coat leftover and one can is more than sufficient for door + sidelights. If you have a therma tru door, you MUST use this staining kit or the door warranty will not be honored. It may be pricey but its very high quality and looks great. Hope the above info and insight helped. When I started this process, I wasn't sure if it was a good idea. Yes, its a lot of work but I saved our $1800 door and am extremely happy with the new and improved version. It was easy to use and all the products I needed were included. It took me 2 days to do as I got a late start and I wanted it to dry completely before applying the protective coat.
