I have heated floors, so does the Matt prevent heat from getting to the dog’s food?

The mat is thin ,so it may soften with heat depending on how hot the tiles become when heated. If the dog bowl is thick . I don't think the food would become heated .

Can the ants get to food if its outside?

Pretty sure ants can crawl on silicone. Plus the edge isn't that high.
