This dishwasher gel is just as good as cascade, if not better. I wanted something with less chemicals, so I went with Seventh Generation. I tried the powder at first, but that left residue on my dishes and inside my dishwasher. So I decided to try the gel, and it's great! No more residue, and my dishes are all squeaky clean. If you are trying to decide between the powder and the gel, definitely get the gel. And if you are wondering about how strong the lemon smell is, it is very faint; when the dishwasher is running you can't even smell it. And there is no smell left on the dishes. I've been using this detergent for the past 6 months or so. Overall, I love it. I love that it's fragrance free so it doesn't give us headaches with a strong scent! There have just been a couple times that there was leftover residue of peanut butter and rice on certain dishes that the detergent didn't get off. I've learned what substances I need to wash by hand versus sticking in the dishwasher with this detergent. All in all, I'm happy, and it does save me time from washing dishes by hand.

Seventh Generation is as good as people have said. The dishwasher detergent, just like the laundry detergent, might come in smaller lighter bottles but they go just as far as the huge bottles the other brands come in and more Seventh Generation dishwasher detergent leaves a fresh shine on my items, with no residue, harsh smell, or taste like my prior brands have. I purchased six and gave one to a friend, she loved it as well! It is worth every penny, eco-friendly, when I open the dishwasher up after a steamy load there is no more chemical smell rushing into my face. Bottles are perfect size, lightweight for my wrists (I have bad wrists), and I will never go back to using a chemical brand again. Just like the Seventh Generation laundry detergent, why didn't I try this sooner!!!!!

Dirty dishes go into the dishwasher, clean dishes come out. There is no residue, no funny taste or smell. It doesn’t leave the machine dirty either. Love it!
