Freestyle Rocker XL Camping Chair - Black

Bought two of these for the Luke Bryan Farm Show and specifically wanted something comfortable for my wife, who is dealing with a torn hamstring. These were a great choice. They are sturdy, comfortable, and very easy to open and close. The rocking feature is smooth and the chair feels very stable. The back is a little shorter than I expected, but that’s on me for not paying closer attention to the dimensions. It hasn’t been a dealbreaker at all. We also got them at a great end-of-season sale price, which made the purchase even better. Overall, very happy with them — comfortable, well-built, easy to use, and a good value. We liked them enough that we bought two!

I absolutely love this GCI Outdoor Freestyle Rocker XL. The rocking motion is smooth and surprisingly sturdy, making it incredibly comfortable for long periods of sitting at the campsite, backyard, or park. What I Like: • The chair is extra wide and tall, which makes it feel spacious and supportive. • Easy to fold and carry — the built-in handle and lightweight frame make transportation simple. • Sturdy construction with durable materials that feel solid and long-lasting. • The rocking mechanism works seamlessly, adding a relaxing motion you don’t often find in portable chairs. • Comfortable fabric and breathable mesh help keep you cool even on warm days. Overall Impression: This chair is perfect for anyone who wants a portable, comfortable, and fun seating option outdoors. It’s well-built, easy to transport, and makes relaxing outside truly enjoyable. I would buy it again without hesitation.

I’m really impressed with this chair. It feels sturdy, well built, and is very comfortable to sit in, even for longer periods. The wide seat and solid armrests make it much more comfortable than a standard camping chair. It folds up easily for storage and transport, and the quality of the materials seems excellent. Whether you’re camping, relaxing in the backyard, or taking it to outdoor events, this chair is a great choice. I’m very happy with this purchase.

The title probably says it all. Solid chair, which was expected for the price. Not light, but I didn't really want it to be considering its function and my desire for it to last. It is not uncomfortable, but for me at 6'-4" tall, I could use another 2-3 inches of height on the backrest I believe before it would be quite comfortable for long duration sits. To be fair and honest, I have not sat in the chair for more than an hour and half, and I had no real comfort issues when doing so. It is more that in a rocker, you are certainly leaning/pushing back on the backrest constantly and as a result, you might notice it's lack of height if you are tall and not slouching. Either way, that does not warrant docking the chair a star. It is very nice and boy have the cheap camping chairs from 15 years ago come a long way. Let the World once again thank America and our endless pursuit of better products.

I purchased the GCI Outdoor Freestyle Rocker XL in January 2025, hoping for a comfortable outdoor chair with a good cup holder for my camping trips, sports events, and more. My main expectation was comfort and convenience. Performance Evaluation This chair delivers on comfort—sitting in it feels like luxury. The rocking motion is smooth, the seat is supportive, and the setup is simple with its folding design. The cup holder works well and the construction feels sturdy and durable, supporting my 185 lb, 69" frame with no concerns. After months of regular use, there have been no issues or signs of wear. Pros - Ultimate comfort: Rocking action and seat design surpass standard camping chairs. - Durable build: Feels solid and reliable, even after repeated use. - Great for sports events and tailgating: Perfect when you don’t have to worry about packing space. Cons - Lacks portability: The chair is bulky and takes up considerable space, making it impractical for camping trips with limited packing room. - Storage and transport: Not easy to fit into a packed vehicle like a Jeep unless space is abundant. Comparison to Product Description & Other Chairs The chair lives up to its advertised features—wide seat, sturdy frame, good cup holder, and rocking motion. Compared to other camping chairs I’ve owned, this one is fantastic for comfort, but its large size means I use it primarily at events and tailgates rather than for camping. Actionable Takeaways If you are looking for a truly comfortable outdoor chair and have enough room for transport and storage, this chair is a winner. Highly recommended for larger folks and anyone prioritizing comfort over portability. However, if your main need is a packable chair for camping or frequent travel, consider a smaller option.

When I first saw this chair, a couple was enjoying music in the park and I noticed that they were rocking back and forth? I was flabbergasted, not realizing that these were designed as rockers! I asked the couple if indeed, these camp chairs were rockers and the husband jumped up, telling me that the first time he saw them was in a park and he had a similar response to mine, asking the guy in the chair if it was indeed, a camp chair rocker? That guy had my guy sit in the chair, which my guy had me do after he explained his story to me. It was comfortable and it rocked! He said that he had taken a picture of the chair, so he wouldn't forget. I immediately went on to Amazon and ordered 2 chairs (but the XL, because I'm a big guy). My only note is, the chair could be a little bit deeper, meaning the seating surface. When I naturally sit down on the chair, it "feels" like my knees are a long way from the seating surface, making me feel the need to sit more upright. However, after sitting in the chair for a couple of hours in the park a couple of weeks ago (listening to music, as it happens), the chair was very comfortable and I didn't even notice if I was sitting upright or slouching a little. Maybe it will be different after an entire weekend camping, but right now this chair is a winner in my book! Highly recommend!

Comfortable chair that unfolds into a very stable rocker. I bought this chair to replace a bulky uncomfortable reclining folding chair that was heavy and not easily portable. The only con is that the chair is a little hard to fold and unfold. I’m sure that is just a learning curve issue. The overall appearance and quality appear to be good and it has two convenient handles, one for carry and one to assist in folding the chair.

I like everything about this chair. Opens and folds easily and is sturdy. Glider movement is smooth and the chair is high enough. Easy to get up from.

Lovely comfy chair. Great for large people.

Gerne wieder.
