It is just what I needed
I bought the Stagg MUS-ARM 1 to attach to a Hercules MS401B microphone stand and support a Digitech Trio+ Band Creator pedal. It performs that function, beautifully, and there is room left over on the platform. The mic stand's upright is one inch in diameter, and the Stagg clamp fits it with room to spare. The Trio+ and connected cables probably weigh a couple of pounds--not enough to stress the MUS-ARM 1, which seems quite sturdy. It was easy to set up and configure as I wanted it (see photo). It can be set up as a flat, horizontal platform if desired. The wider MUS-ARM 2 could not be configured flat without modifications, as described in another reviewer's post. Do I need to say that hanging anything off the side of a mic stand increases it's chances of tipping over? The MUS-ARM 1 is fairly heavy, by itself, and with additional weight on the platform, a stable mic stand is required to keep everything upright. With a tripod stand, position one of the legs under the MUS-ARM 1. I was surprised that there is no non-slip or cushion material inside the clamp. It seems to hold sufficiently well, but I might add some rubber pads in the "V" of the clamp, to see if they improve the grip. Otherwise, I'm satisfied.

Fabulous
I ordered two of these, one to hold music, and one to hold a netbook computer. I am very happy with how it performs in both situations. High quality, solid support, and good design decisions all around. The angle adjustment is very solid and it should be able to hold a very heavy book of music or a medium sized computer. The arm is just long enough that if turn the platform sideways, you can lean the music stand back next to the mic stand that it is attached to. I will try to add pictures when I get a chance. This is really two products that work together: a short boom arm with a mic attachment, and a narrow music stand that mounts onto a standard microphone thread base. I am using one stand attached to a mic stand, and a second with the arm removed, mounted directly onto a "Gibraltar Multi-Mount Microphone Clamp". Major bonus points for making a solid piece of gear that is also modular and flexible. Note: the music stand easily detaches from the adjustable-angle part for storage. This is great, but be aware that the lock nut does not do a good job of "locking", so if you turn the stand upside down, the it will fall off. This could be a problem if you experience frequent random gravity fluctuations. Final verdict: I own two, and am considering buying one of the full-width (MUS-ARM 2) models also.

Good Product - With A Couple Of Minor Flaws
This is a solid music/tablet holder, convenient and well-designed overall, but it misses the mark on a couple of details. I use it as part of an all-in-one music stand setup and it works quite well. The detachable head works well and makes things really easy to stow. The deficiencies are that it will not fit a 35mm stand as advertised, such as a speaker stand (33mm is about its limit), and the arm on the one that I have is a couple of degrees from being perpendicular to the stand. After using a competing K&M product for years I find these to be much sturdier and more convenient.

Very good quality for the price!
I notice that a lot of reviewers had problems with this stand because it didn't do exactly what they wanted it to do. I purchased the product with a peculiar function in mind (holding a light controller), with every intention of modifying it to suit my purpose. (I cut the rack down to custom fit my equipment, and put velcro fasteners on it.) Therefore my rating is based simply on the build quality and value. In short, this is a very well built item. It sturdily attaches to my microphone stand, and has a nylon tip on the mounting screw so it doesn't mar the finish of my microphone stand. The metal is high quality, not at all thin or flimsy. The hardware likewise is of good quality, with limited range of motion as others have noted, but the lock screws firmly hold their position. Considering the fact that it is a specialty item, I think the price is very reasonable. Many other such items are either absurdly expensive, or of lousy quality. I would without hesitation buy another one should the need arise.

It Works! It Really Works!
So, I had this crazy idea that I could build a portable isolation microphone station with a music stand attached. After a lot of shopping here on Amazon and elsewhere, I decided to try using a Stagg MUS-ARM 1 Small Music Stand, an On-Stage MSA9502 Posi-Lok Mini Microphone Boom Arm, a Rockville Recording Studio Microphone Isolation Shield + Heavy Duty Tripod Stand, and a CAMVATE Ultraclamp with 5/8"-27 thread for microphones (Model #8541754602), I put them all together (along with an Anwenk Rubber Pads Rubber Washers with 1/4" Screw Hole for adjustment purposes) and IT WORKED! I actually built a portable isolation microphone station with a music stand! The clamp that came with the Stagg music stand would only fit around a regular microphone pole. But, I needed something that could fit around that heavy duty Rockville Tripod. The Cavamate clamp did the trick. However, now I needed to be able to connect the Stagg music stand to the Cavamate clamp. That's where the On-Stage boom arm came in! These items came together perfectly to form the configuration that I was looking to build. Well... almost perfectly. The threading on the boom arm when I connected it to the clamp ended with the boom arm about 45 degrees off of the direction I needed it to be in for the music stand to correctly oriented. So, I found the Anwenk Rubber Pads Rubber Washers and I only needed one to give me just the right amount of adjustment to get the orientation right! And it WORKS! It's strong, and sturdy. The tripod can hold all that weight without tipping over. It's GREAT!

Good but seems fragile
The arm is a great size, the sheet holder can be set at great viewing angles. Some similar products I've had didn't allow the surface to tilt as much as this one. I transported it twice to use at practice and somehow the set screw at the bottom of the music holder's post has become ruined and I can no longer tighten it, the stand is now useless. I reached out to the manufacturer - using the contact form on their website - to ask if parts were available and they did not bother to make any reply at all. I will have to weld it or throw it away.

Perfect for my Mackie 802-VLZ3
Bought this for my 802 and it fit perfectly. Only thing i didnt like was the position of the bracket that is riveted to the bottom of the music stand. But i am pretty handy, so I just drilled them out, redrilled new holes near the center, and used screws and kep nuts to retach the bracket. Now the mixers weight is evenly distributed on the stand. I use this setup at work so my mixer sits off the table (incase I spill my coffee) and is much easier to operate.

Fits perfectly on ion drum set bars
This fits onto the bar of my middle school son's used electric drum set very well. He is just learning to play and it is working great fo rhim. The stand just screws down to tighten. I could have bought the bigger one, but this exactly fits and holds his music book folded over, or if open it only supports the middle. Not bothersome unless you had two loose papers you had to be able to follow. The stand is well made, sturdy, sufficient lip, and adjusts and tilts like it should. If any problems develop, I will update this review.

Good sturdy bit of kit
I've had this for a good while now - extremely useful in the studio for both sheet music. I've had it on a few mic stands and it adapts to all of them. Once you're happy with height and angle, you can easily lock it in place, no fuss. The less clutter in a studio the better, so it's unlikely I ever go back to a standard stand. A little clip to secure the sheets would have been a nice addition, especially if you need to put a fan on, but I've found a couple of big folder clips do the job. Glad I spotted it - recomended.
