Switching between Farenheit and Celsius requires a paperclip in a small hole in the back, as does resetting the high/low markers. The display alternates between temp and humidity every couple seconds with a cute face letting you know if things are in the optimal range. The readings are close approximations. For me, the negative is the fact that the large numbers on the display switch between humidity (which I don't care about) and the temperature. So when you look at the display to determine the temperature you have to wait (about 5 seconds) for the display to show temperature. I don't recall the Amazon description mentioning that fact. If you are farther away the % and degree icon are small and hard to see.
