I thought this tool would be the one that would be hardest to control, but it isn't as long as you control the pressure you exert on it and the angle you have it against the wood. On some types of wood if found it was better to go with the grain instead of against the grain, but each piece could be different. It works best to help form the outline of the wood you're removing and to Hog-Out the middle of project, then switch to the either the less aggressive metal disc or floppy sanding disc to refine the cuts.

I used it to carve some queen ann style legs in hard maple. I attached it to a rigid cordless grinder and it craved without a issue. It has better control than the chainsaw on a disc and the dome cutter. A good add for the tool box and not crazy expensive as the brand name.
