Easy to use, exactly as expected
It is a very good litter box. The construction was easy and it works exactly as described, and cleaning the litter box is fast and easy. I've only used one other litter box (open tray) once before switching over to this, and from the comparisons I can make, there is much less litter dust flying around when using the Omepa Paw Self-Cleaning Litter Box. Although it is kind of expensive for a box that holds poop (although not as expensive as some of the other self-cleaning ones), it does make cleaning the litter box a much less annoying process and I totally recommend it. I only have small criticisms with the design: - the lip designed to help catch litter doesn't work for me because when I tip the box over to remove poops, the litter pieces fall to the floor. I found it easier to remove it and use a litter mat to catch the litter on the cat's feet instead - the material is easily scratched, after a week of using it, the bottom of the litter box is all scratched up from me moving it a little bit here and there while cleaning it. it's not like anyone looks at the bottom of the litter box so it's not a big deal, but for people who like things looking new for a long time might want to not push it around or keep a mat under it or something

Ok, not great but not horrendous
It works mostly. Just like EVERYONE is saying, the plastic is super flimsy. So are the clips. It hasn't broken yet, but I imagine it's going to break before I change the box (I buy a new box every few years). As far as ease of use, you literally just roll it and it deposit the prezzies in the little scooper. I've noticed that the clumps are too big for the scoop sometimes, which makes a mess pulling it out because it scrapes on the opening. Gross lol. The area available for your cats to use isn't exactly massive either. Half of the box is the sifting system, so even though I bought the bigger size deliberately because I've got a fatty kitty she's definitely a lil smooshed in there. One cat is about 10lbs and slim, my fatty is 13 but she's a Siamese and is only supposed to be like 8lbs so she's quite. . . Round lol. Both use the box though. My fluffy cat also has this awesome habit of using the same exact spot in the litter box to urinate, which super saturates the litter in that spot and the clump winds up super glued to the back corner up against the grate. Soooo I have to go in and break it up with a scooper but what that means is the grate gets dirty too and it's a b and a half to try to clean it. However. I'm lazy. So lazy. I cannot even articulate exactly how lazy because that's too much work. I love that I literally just give it a roll, slap the bottom a few times, and yank out the scoop and litter box is (mostly) clean. It's soooo much easier than scooping daily, and it's a massive time saver too. I used to have a litter robot and obviously that's better, but I left it behind when i moved because I didn't have room for a spaceship of a litter box. Plus my chunky cat loves scraping her paws after she's done (quite the dainty lady isn't she?) and she ripped the lining up. Plastic boxes mean she can scrape to her fuzzy hearts content without destroying $600 worth of tech. Both of my cats like using the paw scraper actually, so I'm glad I got this version. Litter is everywhere still, haven't found a box that keeps the litter spray from happening but it's not really a Major concern for me. As far as smell, no door means no trapping the yuck. I prefer boxes with doors but this doesn't have one so no door for me I guess. When I notice it's stinking it's super simple to give it a roll and "scoop" twice a day or however many times I need to. my cats also have recently picked up the habit of not burying their presents (well actually the stray I rescued doesn't and he taught my chungus she didn't have to either. So thanks for that I guess lol) and rolling it also helps cover them in litter which helps them clump up and helps with the smell which is nice. Sometimes on super lazy days I'll give it a roll and just leave it up top because the scoop isn't full and rolling it coated the yucks so they don't stink anymore. Overall I'm... Pleased. I'll probably get another when it breaks, But for sure I will get the one that has the easy litter adding chute because I used to just use a little cup to scoop litter into the box to add it, so I figured why pay extra for something I don't need but the hole on this box is so small that it’s a massive pain in the butt to do that. I take the entire top off to add litter. Basically it's got a LOT of real negatives but the positives outweigh them at this juncture. We'll see how I feel when it breaks because for SURE it's going to at some point.

Best litter box ever
This is absolutely the best litter box on the market - after the first time you clean the litter you'll wonder why you didn't buy this sooner!! It was easy to put together. After reading the comments here and with the difficulties some people had, I bent the 'sifting' piece before snapping it into place in the bottom half of the box. I made sure there wasn't any problems with it, no cracks, then snapped the solid piece to the side of the box and folded the sifting side into the slots in the bottom of the box. The top fits perfectly onto the bottom and there are clips that hold the two sides together. If you don't have the top and bottom lined up properly the clips will give you a problem... just adjust it a little, make sure they're fit snugly together and the clips will slide very easy. After that, just insert the tray in it's spot and wait for your cat to 'go'. Some people have said their cats had a problem adjusting, mine really didn't - but then again, when it came time to transition, I didn't give them much of a choice..... I left one of their old boxes next to the Omega Paw Elite Self Cleaning Roll 'n Clean Litter Box and didn't clean it. First though, after I got it, I set it up and left it in the living room (without litter in it) so they could get used to it being around. They sniffed at it - jumped in it - just generally checked it out. After that, I moved it to where their old litter boxes were and as I said, I left one of their old boxes next to it and gave them the option to use either the old or the new box. They figured out what it was and started using the new box. I did get two of these as my two cats are high "producers" :-) Clean up is a breeze! Just roll it over slowly to the right side, the clean litter sifts into the bottom and the clumps gather into the top. When you roll it back to the left, the clumps drop into the tray. I read that someone else rolls it a little further to the left so more of the clean litter filters back into the area where the cat uses it. After that, just remove the tray, dump it, replace it, and you're done. I usually roll it over twice - the second time I'll hit the bottom of the box so anything that is stuck to the bottom comes off and goes into the tray. My cats like to dig down to the bottom of the litter box before they urinate so I always have stuck on clumps. If you're on the fence about buying this, wondering if it's worth the cost - trust me, for the ease and not having to scoop and deal with all the mess, it is absolutely worth it!!!

Used to be a huge fan and proponent - no more!
First purchase of an Omega Paw litter box - 2010. Over the years, we've owned seven (now eight) of these. With each purchase, the quality has gradually slipped further and further down. Each year the plastic it's made from gets thinner and more flexible, causing a host of problems - the grate gets dislodge requiring pulling it apart and reseating it, 'smacking' the bottom to dislodge 'stuck on' litter is harder because the hits are absorbed by the soft plastic, requiring ever harder hits. The upper portion of the grate splits, worsening the likelihood of the grate dislodging. The company was reasonably responsive way back when. When I complained about the splitting/dislodging grate, they sent a new one from a supposedly stiffer plastic (it was not noticeably different). This most recent purchase is horrendous. From the first use, the grate became dislodged. I repeatedly had to disassemble, reset the grate, reassemble - though with the 'new' even softer plastic, it became possible to just pull up on the grate while assembled to nudge it back into the slot (thats a "benefit" only in compensating for the lousy quality). It was happening almost every time, so I finally completely dismantled it, drilled holes (well, melted with a nail) in the small 'keepers' for the grate and zip tied it down. It also doesn't help that the current plastic is very 'sticky' - clumps of urine will stick to the sides and bottom, sometimes only partially dislodging, requiring using an old style litter scooper to scrape it off. In the harder to reach places, it requires dismantling the thing to get to those spots. I'd thought with more use the plastic would get a good enough coating of fine powder from the litter that the problem would gradually go away. It has not. Why have we owned so many over the years? For a time we had two, one for each of our two cats. Over several years the inside will just inherently get 'cruddy', and I'm sorry, taking it apart and hosing it out and wiping it down for a deep clean is not a task I'm willing to do, so we'd just replace. As for customer service? Gone. I expressed my frustrations in an email back in October - firm, but not rude - and got absolutely no reply, not even an autoreply to advise the message was received. (I confirmed the email was received via logs on my mailserver) I'm done. I've had it. The concept - just rolling it and easily tossing the leavings into a bag - is exceptional. Brilliant. When it works/worked - it's fantastic, the whole process of cleaning the litter box is a thirty second task, no muss no fuss. Unfortunately, it's now huge amounts of fuss and muss - and mess. So now this seventy-six dollar purchase is going in the trash after less than two months. Do. Not. Buy.

Cheap, but decently functional
I expected more from the product. My biggest issue with it, is that the slotted grate isnt secured well enough, even under filled it will come lose and you have to take the box apart and handle the nasty grate to reposition it between the 2 notches that hold it. The second worst thing about this box is that the box the cat mess falls into does not reach all the way to the back of the litter box, so you actually have to tilt the box forward a quite a bit, and then roll to the side which is very inconvenient. My third complaint is that the solid top on the grate does not fit securely in place, and leaves a small bubble of space open against the edge that you roll towards. Though it hasn't been an issue since the the top latches over it . 4th, is that the latches do not feel very strong, just plastic painted silver, and while theres 4 latches none of them are on the side you roll to clean which is concerning. Should any of them fail especially on the adjoining side you'll have some litter to clean up especially with the bubble of space left from the solid grate top, and lastly the bin for the cat mess is not secure, and is a lose fit so it will fall out when tilting forward which is just inconvenient. I gave this litter box 3 stars, because while it feels cheap and has some structural issues, it works effectively when the grates in place, is a good size, and looks nice. Edit: July 9th 2022 A few weeks after having it, cat jumped on roof it bent in and made a small crackle appear on the side that you roll towards. Litters falls out when I clean it now. My cat isn't very heavy, at most 5/6 pounds. I won't buy again, product is to cheap and weak for price point

OMG. I hardly ever leave reviews, but I need everyone to buy this.
As someone who struggles to get the litter box clean due to mental illness and mine and my partners very busy schedule, I now am able to clean the litter box before I go to work. it literally took me 1 minute to clean the litter box. I’ve cleaned it 3 times since it got here not even 24 hours ago because it’s just SO easy. My cats love it and it fits my 14lb cat and withstands his aggressive covering up technique. It’s made from solid material and is easy to take a part for a deep cleaning. I will definitely be recommending this litter box to every single person I know, which is a lot of cat people cause I work at an animal shelter 😂 If you are on the fence about buying it, DO IT, ITS A LIFE CHANGER.

Last two years and has never done me wrong!!
I’ve had mine for two years now and it’s just now starting to show its wear and tear. Couple of cracks near the clips and stuff and It’s super easy to do a deep clean. I love how easy it is to just roll it over and clean, and to have it last for two years at this price to me is amazing!! Obviously, this is not a robot and there are some downsides (stuff getting stuck in the sifted, the step way breaking), but to me those weren’t really a huge deal and didn’t effect overall functionality. The cup or thing that catches the litter is also fairly large and easy to take out and in. Honestly, if you’re not picky and just want something easily than a regular box where you have to use a scooper or don’t wanna break the bank, then this is the best bet for you. I am going to buy a new one soon! Oh I also have two small-medium sized cats. I think if my cats were larger (like 15-30 pounds) they would probably have a tough time with this, so keep that in mind when purchasing.

A good idea that needed more iteration before release
I really want to love this system, but I don't think it got enough testing before they decided to ship their design. I bought two of these to replace my older litter boxes. It works fairly well, particularly with easy slide litter (duh). My cat took to it right away without having to be forced, and it seems to have enough room for him. There are two significant design flaws/oversights. The first one is forgivable. The sifting grate tends to catch smaller clumps, and upon tipping it back to return the sand, those clumps just go back into the clean litter. The really, really annoying problem is that the tray for collecting the clumps is too short and doesn't reach to the back of the litter box. So, when you tip it and get all the larger clumps up to the top of the box like designed, some gather in the upper right corner, and miss the tray entirely. When returning the clean litter by tipping it back, these clumps all go back into the clean litter. You then have to scoop it out yourself. Not some earth shattering requirement, but you're paying quite a lot for this system, and it has such an obvious design flaw. If your cat likes corners, which all of mine in the past and present seem to prefer, this is kind of a big problem. If they redesign the tray, this would probably go from 2 to 4 or even 5 stars. As it is, it's a very expensive product that doesn't do its job very well. Full disclosure, I am keeping them, because having to scoop a couple of clumps is better than having to scoop them all, but I'm disappointed.

Great!
This is a very good litter box. It is very easy to use and clean and works just like it says it should. I am using much less litter. I used to buy one box a week and now one box lasts 3 weeks at least. I empty it every day, because it only takes a minute, and therefore there is no litter box smell as it is always clean. I have a small Rex cat and she uses it with no issue, I am not sure if a large cat would fit in this box though as the actual area that the cat uses is half the size of the container. I bought the one with the "metal" clips but they are just painted plastic so not worth the upcharge in my opinion.

Needs to be larger.
I have a very large cat so ordered the large litter box. So far he has not gone Into the litter box but I continue to entice him to enter. Time will tell.

Self clean out litter tray
When I seen this I thought yeah right a cat tray cleaning it self I'm now kicking my self for thinking of this due to the fact that it does what it says and all you need to do is empty the handle part from the cat tray and you cat litter is clean and ready for your cat or kitten to use again. My kitten loves it she's using it all the time She's making the cat tray work hard so she is really testing it out bless her The cost is fine Set up was a little awkward due to had to look at the manual over 3 times but given me a good jigsaw job The smell of the cat litter tray after my kitten has used it is okay not much of a smell like normal cat trays at all Package with what it came in was big but tight to which I was pleased with cause stuff like this can break duing transit The step for my kitten is brilliant she loves using it The only thing that I would advise is putting a cat door on to give your cat some type of privacy cause when I went to check on my kitten while she was doing her toilet I got a dirty look as if she is saying to me do I mind Over all I think it has saved the cat litter being wasted and it has a good feeling about it I'm glad that my kitten really loves it she feels like queen bless her. Easy to use I can handle it well and great as I like it my self the ease of removal of the handle is fantastic and easy and yes I would really recommend this to all thoughs that is looking for a cat tray as this cat tray does exactly what it says on here And who ever came up with this idea thank you it is the very best idea you cam up with
