I'll start off with geeking out. 26650 battery (a big vape battery) vs 3 aaa's = 26650 winner! This is what a UV flashlight comes down to - high drain power for long duration. You can even use your old vape charger if you want. Not only that, the 365NM spectrum is way better at detecting florescence than the overall purple spotlight of a 385NM light. I've used cheaper lights that promise high florescence detection but fail in comparison to this one. Note that I've been using these to detect pet urine. This one will make cat pee glow even if the lights are on. Obviously it's better in the dark but if you're on the fence, choose this one, I'm sure it is a lot of fun at night because it casts a narrow beam that reached over 60 feet indoors. My previous experience with these lights gave me a negative opinion about handheld UV but this light has totally redeemed itself!

Took a shot on this 365nm UV flashlight, and glad I did. This blows my previous S2 365nm (popular name brand) flashlight away - much brighter. It's about 6" long, 1.75" across on the face - so, not exactly a pocket flashlight. They put a small glow-in-the-dark ring next to the filtered glass if you are wondering what the green ring is. I still don't know what the output rating is (20W, 25W?) but it's putting out a high power beam. I can light up a rock from 20 feet easily and feel the heat if I put my hand in front of the beam. The battery charger works but feels cheap - takes hours to fully charge the battery. I would recommend picking up an extra battery or 2 (they are fairly cheap) so you are always covered. I opted to get an extra dual-battery + charger combo. I figured I could get one uvbeast or 2 of these for less $$. Hope this helps.

I got this for a trip to the rainforest and it was perfect for helping find bugs, particularly this huge scorpion, but lots of spiders and even a crab fluoresced beautifully. The only thing I wish was that you could charge the battery without a separate charger - I forgot to pack the charger so I have some range anxiety.

We used this to look for Yooper Lights! Let me tell you what! These are some of the best lights for the novice rock hunter on Amazon. BE SURE to wear the UV safety glasses to protect your eyes! The light is very durable and comes with a special well designed case. It held charge wonderfully and were SO fun to use in the proper locations and back at the campground where we found more tiny ones in the rocks near the campsite! The zone to view the UV rays is focused so don't expect a larger wide angle. That focused view really ensures keep your sights set in a prescribed place too so that is helpful. These will likely go with us on many vacations to come. At home, post trip, these highlight tons of areas for improvement in cleaning. 😂🤣 It picks up everything (even the tiniest piece of lint and illuminates it for you!) I work with a lot of fabric in my free time... so imagine the stories this light tells when it illuminates that room even after a fresh vacuum. 🤪
