Not sure why the reviews are bad. The ashtray is true to the pics, especially the ones in the user review. I like the burnished red bronze. The color hides the ashes well. It's not so flimsy that it would easily deform like one reviewer said. He probably used way too much force to remove the lid. It was very difficult to remove the lid the first time. Definitely remove it first before using it and then put it back on not so tightly. I put baking soda inside to hid the odor and it was very nondescript. Exactly what I wanted and it holds a lot of butts. The mechanism to open and close the lid works fine but I don't expect it to last forever. This type of ashtray always ends up with an issue where the lid doesn't close all the way after a while. But so far so good. Better than the roulette ones if you are looking for something that doesn't scream ashtray, but for outdoor patios where you plan to leave the ashtray outside continuously, the roulette ashtray is probably the way to go.

I needed a solution to keep my roommates ashes from converting the porch. This far surpassed any expectation I had! It’s just a small metal trash can and the design is genius as well as the looks of it! It’s exactly as pictured. It’s also pretty satisfying to use honestly. The only complaint is that the lord can be difficult to get off to empty without almost spilling the contents but minor inconvenience compared to its usefulness. 10/10 recommend and would but again

I’m one of those smokers who can’t stand having cigarette butts in my ashtray, so I love this! I gave it 4 stars because it’s not as easy as you’d think to drop the butt down in the tray. Then there’s the fact that it’s loud when the room is quiet, you’re trying to drop the butt in the ashtray, and your husband is asleep. I’m like “oh crap!” and then I immediately look at him to make sure he’s still asleep. On a positive note, the tray always seems to stay clean after I dump it, which is real nice.

I was looking for an easy clean, easy empty ashtray for my wife. The ashtray part is good, but emptying the thing, not so great. It does not open wide enough to completely get out all the ash, and cigarette butts. It does work, but I was hoping for more. It also does not seal well enough to keep the smell out either.

The little fin switch - gets loose and falls off - I use it for cigars. It does the job - just wish I could find a solution to have the fin switch not fall off when I shake the ashtray when I am trying to empty it - it often falls in the trash bag and I keep going to dig for it - if I forget to pull it off before emptying.

Bad! Made super cheap! I didn't even keep for free! Broke before use. Called to return and they said they didn't want me to send back and they would send my money back to acct. Never did 🥴this has never happened before that I can recall but after the half hour on phone, I wasn't gonna waste more of my time so i just ate the loss. 🥴👎👎👎👎👎stay away. Lots of better ones on market, even at Amazon. Just if the weight is too light, don't get it!

I like it, except I can't use it for what its intended. Of course, the flip tab came broken off. I've 'fixed it ' SEVERAL times using things like epoxy, polygels, even fiberglass (experienced). Tab continuously falls off as if it was not manufactured correctly one time, it will never sit properly in its swing crevice. So i have resulted in just asking ABOVE where ashes should fall - literally could use a piece of cardboard for the same purpose. So while the intention is great, its beautiful, not low quality materials BUT LOW QUALITY ASSEMBLY.
