Yozakura - Japanese Ceremonial Matcha Bowl - Glazed Green Tea Chawan For Tea Ceremony

This is a very good chawan. I wasn't too sure when I opened and was handling it - the shape is rather irregular. Well, as it turns out - the shape is PERFECT for your hands to hold it. It seems impossible when you look at it, but when you go to pick it up, your hand finds a comfortable grasp right away, while at the same time somehow avoiding the hotter parts of the vessel. Good design

This is absolutely a beautiful Matcha bowl. I leave it sitting out on my counter as a decoration right beside my Matcha whisk set.

Heavy-weight bowl with a nice finish/glaze. Decent size.

The bowl itself is solid, well made, nice smooth finish, authentic Japanese matcha style. It's a good size...my last matcha bowl was so small it was difficult to whisk without spilling matcha everywhere, but this bowl is the perfect size for up to about 12 oz's. The only reason I give 3 stars is because the pictures in the description are a little misleading. The coloring isn't quite as bright and there's a lot more dark blue than what's showing in the pictures...in fact when you look at it from the back you only see the dark blue. It's still looks great and I'll be keeping it, but if you're particular about the colors you might be disappointed.

I like the red/white cherry blossom design of inner/outer surface and the uneven rim. However the background color is more of brownish color than black.Also the outer back of the bowl is a solid brown color without the design. Minor detail:I was hoping to see a stamp brand in the foot of the bowl but there was none. But the main reason I returned it was because if the difference in color between the bowl in the picture and real-life. I hope the seller would use an untouched photo for a truer representation unstead of enhancing the saturation. Overall a decent bowl if you are not nitpicking about the color.
