Merino Wool Roving 8 oz, Combed Top for Felting & Spinning, Cinnamon

This wool is sooooo sooooo soft. I made a full set of dreads using this roving. I like that the wool is naturally striated with beautiful color. My finished product is not one solid color so it looks much more natural. The roving is not difficult to tear to length nor is it hard to divide width wise. Yet the roving is strong, solid...not fragile (if that makes sense?). The color is various shades from almost brown to natural, my hair is naturally a dark dirty blonde with no sun exposure and the when the wool is felted, it blends pretty closely to my natural hair color. This is my first time making and wearing wool dreads. I originally tried some really cheap stuff from H.L. and only after getting the hang of the process did I upgrade. I ordered two varieties, this merino wool and a different brand with corriedale and this was hands down the winner in softness and color. I used a wet felting method to make my project. I installed them a few days ago and the difference between these and the synthetics I've been making and wearing for the past few years is night and day. I love the softness, I love the weightlessness, I love that they resemble my natural hair extremely closely. There is absolutely no itchiness. I don't smell anything on this wool. Lol, my husband keeps petting these because they're so soft! I don't know if I'll ever go back to synthetic fiber.

This merino roving wool has been wonderful for making wool dreadlocks. I had never purchased this brand before and was slightly worried about the quality, but the product was very soft workable, definitely an A+. When working with this wool I noticed I had a much easier time pulling the sections I needed, compared to others I have used. Desert Breeze Distributing is the brand of the merino wool, I ordered it in the color Rust. The color was exactly as pictured. I would definitely recommend this wool for any purpose!

Finally found the true white I was looking for, and by far the nicest wool roving I’ve ever had my hands on. As a weaver and a spinner, I’ve felt a lot of wool, but this is so incredibly soft and supple. Its fibers run in the same direction and are blended to perfection with no matting or thick/thin areas. I was a little unsure of the price, as I normally by 1lb for the same amount- but if you're looking for premium roving or something thats true white, look no further! I bought four or five rolls previous to this claiming to be “milk white” or “Santa beard white” only to be disappointed when I would receive the same natural ivory color. This is white white without sacrificing its natural look and incredibly silky feel

I got this roving because I just started weaving on a hand loom and I wanted to use this beautiful blue wool for a sculptural look on a wall hanging.It’s so soft with a soft sheen. Easy to manipulate and I got lovely results with my very first try.10/10 would recommend

Beautiful wool. Color is exactly what is pictured. Needed a little fluffing out of the box, but not unexpected. I spun a two ply worsted weight yarn. And knit a vest. Wool is soft and squishy
