It was compact enough to not be a burden, but it held my travel wallet with passport, a water bottle (sideways), a case for my sunglasses, cell phone and a couple granola bars, with room for tiny trinkets! It was seriously the best. The ONLY thing I found slightly annoying was the strap tended to twist on the metal ring that connects it to the bag, but that didn't have any affect on functionality, I'm just OCD sometimes, haha. Like other reviews, when I first opened the bag I found the inside lining to be plastic and weird, but it almost "broke in" after I put items in it and it didn't make the swishing noise anymore and is actually good if you have anything in there that might spill.
