Why does it smell and taste like soap?

In my opinion, it does Not taste like soap, despite smelling like soap. It tastes floral to me, but in a delicate, pleasant way as does wild honeysuckle nectar (straight off the plant) and as jasmine tea does. I like the one from THIS manufacturer more than another purchased on Amazon. The other one which comes in a white/pink/blue pouch, actually does have a soapy taste.
