Can I submerge the pump for long period of time and use it only when I need it ?

we recommend removing from the water source at the end of each day.

Will warm water harm the water pump. If you put warm water into the bag?

Warm water will be ok. Not boiling water.

What is the USB connection at the device?

The USB lead is used to charge up the separate rechargeable battery.
