Outstanding coffee machine. I really can't see what the more expensive models bring
1 Year Update: This machine is still churning out 2-4 coffee's every day without fault and has been an outstanding purchase. I stand by my original review and rating.Original Review: I spent ages looking at various manufacturers coffee machines. I wanted an automatic bean to cup machine, which also steamed the milk. I'd had a manual Delonghi previously and it had lasted years of daily use. This machine is everything I wanted.I've used this machine every for 3 months now, sometime twice a day. The coffee just seems to get better and it definitely takes a week to bed in and get the settings how you want them such as the grind setting. More expensive models don't seem to offer much more for the money and despite the information on Deloghi's website, this machine does produce just as many coffee options. The only exception being a flat white, but you could do this manually if you wanted.Pros- Looks great- Easy to set-up- Quick to start-up- Easy to use - most drinks are one-touch, 2 drinks are easy to make, mymenu allows your personal favourite to be one touch away.- Quick to produce the drink of your choice- Easy access to the water tank and bean hopper- Produces excellent espresso- The milk frother is easy to use/clean and produces rich dense foam at its max setting- Drinks are perfectly hot on the default setting, but if you want hotter then there is a temp. control setting to increase this- Reliable operation (I've yet to have a problem after 300+ lattes)- Programming is easy to set the quantity of each ingredient- Easy to maintain (everything is automated, including the warnings for a full drip tray etc.)- Makes just as many drink options as the higher-end models, despite not being advertised- Comes with a water filter and decalk bottle, which will get you started for the first few monthsCons- Sometimes says the grounds hopper needs emptying when it's only half full. Doesn't happen often and it's easy to empty- Quite a long machine, not really an issue, but might be for a short kitchen surface and anything above it may restrict access to the bean hopper- The water tank could be a little bigger, it will produce 4-6 drinks between refills. Not a massive issue and it's easy to fill. Besides a larger tank would mean a larger machine.

Life Changing - Literally
I bought this after I got sick of another brand extracting from my wallet for special coffee to go in it, that, let's be honest was never as good as starbucks. It was a bit of a debate as to spend the best part of £700 on a coffee machine, but I drink a lot of coffee and the family I married into are Italian so let's face it, it's gonna get used!Looking at it I was half expecting a drink to pop out that was something like you get from a vending machine. I could not have been further from the truth. We use starbucks blonde in ours and it makes an awesome cup of coffee. I also like the fact you can adjust the amount of milk foam. It's easy to clean all the drinks are top notch, from Espresso to Flat White, this thing has it all.One note of caution I have not found a way to adjust the cup size, so a flat white will not fit in a normal cup. I just bought some larger cups for mine, but might be something you need to consider.I like the fact that the machine tells you when it needs descaler to be run through and when to change the filters etc.

Nice coffee but stopped working after two months.
It was making a very good coffee while it was working. It broke down after about two months of use. It has been for repair for about a month and a half now and I am still waiting. In the beginning I thought that my machine was faulty until I called to find out what is going on with it, the reply I received was they are late because they are missing the part needed to repair it. When I mentioned it has been more than a month they told me they received a load of that part but they had to repair other machines first that have been waiting there longer than mine. Honestly I wouldn’t buy it again. I received a new one after a couple of months.

Milk Temperature is low
Usually when you have a coffee you expect it to be hot not between hot and Luke warm. You have to drink it immediately or it goes cold. Not recommend for those who don’t like to down their coffee in 5 mins.

Somewhat Difficult to Use
While it uses beans and makes a reasonable brew, the rinsing mechanism uses quite a lot of water and thus frequent refill. I was not able to find the final coffee produced any tastier or better than a pod type coffee. Machine is quite expensive, heavy, and takes up a lot of room on the kitchen counter. Coffee ground disposal can be messy. Loses water into tray. Must keep a cup under the delivery spouts as machine turns itself of and rinses. Beans may lose freshness sitting in the machine - they sit loose. I am not sold on the merits of this coffee maker.

A bad machine
A good coffee machine overall , makes lovely coffee and is relatively easy to use , the only downside is the water tank, needs filling a couple of times per day , it rinses upon turning on , then you need to clean to rinse clean the milk frother after you use that , and then it rinses after it turns off , so you should also leave a cup under the spout to save using the drip tray .EDIT: After exactly 1 month , the milk no longer gets sucked up from the container , it gets close to the top of the tube, so just water comes out and sometimes very watery milk creeps out. Due to the high price , I Made sure that I cleaned it after every use and always used the " clean " option after using the milk frother. I descaled it exactly as described a few days before it broke. Very disappointed.....further edit: The machine breaks down after every descale, Amazon told me to send it to delonghi for repair, I did, then after I followed it up, amazon told me I should have sent it to them and not delonghi. Delonghi had my machine for 41 days before finally looking at and then sent it back days later. Now Ive returned it for a refund. Useless

Not great
Nice looking Machine with lots of coffee choice but after spending nearly £800 why should I have to microwave milky coffee to get it pleasantly hotEven after filling cups with boiling water from kettle (because if you use machine you would have to refill water tank) and rising pipes coffee is only just warm and the milk carafe has 5 settings 1 attach carafe 2 3 and 4 milk froth settings 5 rinse milk circuit automatic!!! not in my opinion
