Luckily I tested before Installation. Barley got warm. At Sub zero temps I didn't think it would melt anything. I bought a 100' and 60' returned both. Earlier I bought a 160' which worked great.

Here is my review of the cable.Good:- Cable comes with ample attachment clips so don't have to buy additional- Cable does come with instructions that are easy to understand and highlight all the measurements and things you need to follow to install it.- It does work i think, wasn't super warm to touch so i couldn't tell if it is really working yet. I will try again a couple of more times when it snows to really check if it is making a difference or not.Bad- This cable is not certified by any institution like the other cables. Ex. CSA, UL, etc..- Cable switch will require a mandatory GFCI plug, don't have it don't bother buying this cable as you need to have this plugged into the GFCI outlet for proper protection.- Cable separating clips don't hold up at all in the gutters. It says to you use your fingers to press them which is not possible at All. i even tried with to press one with a pliers to test prior to putting them on the cable and it just won't budge.- The cable separating clips won't hold well in the gutters due to their design, they do move around and it becomes an issue.- Most cables out there are offering generous warranty, some even 10-15 years. This cable is one year warranty and i truly hope it works longer than that as the installation time far exceeds the cost difference between this cable that is warrantied for 1ry vs the 10/15yr warranty cables. You don't want to be climbing roofs and fishing wires through gutters every year if that is the case.I personally hope the cable works as intended as i haven't had the weather to fully test this, so i will update the review accordingly.

Works very well and keeps our entire pipe clear of ice allowing all sump water to drain through into the drainage ditch.
