SmartGuard Premium Cleaner Crystals –(110 Cleanings)- Removes Stain, Plaque & Bad Odor from Dentures, Clear Braces, Mouth Guard, Night Guard & Retainers.

I bought this to attempt to remove the deep yellow staining on my translucent night guard and I'm happy to say that it's already removed about 95% of the yellowing in about 4 days of continuous soaking in the same solution when I'm not wearing it at night. While the price may seem a bit steep for those who don't feel like maximizing the packets per their 10 day advertised limit, the fact that it was able to remove the staining effortlessly makes it completely worth it for me. Prior to trying this, I'd tried some of the DIY home methods of soaking and brushing it in hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and vinegar to no avail so when this worked, I was super relieved and very glad to have purchased it. For daily cleaning, it also works as advertised. Previously I'd been following the general recommended cleaning method of brushing it with antibacterial hand soap which worked for general cleaning but obviously wasn't thorough enough to prevent staining. When I remove the night guard from the solution for wearing at night, the guard feels clean to the touch and smells clean. I haven't had the same issue as other reviewers regarding the strong chemical taste. I rinse it in cool water for about 15 seconds and it's good to go. While there is a very very subtle chemical flavor, it goes away after a few seconds of wear. Regarding the hygienic concerns of keeping the same solution out for 10 days, I don't think there's so much to be concerned about. If the solution is/stays strong enough to kill all the bacteria from your saliva/mouth/etc. on the night guard throughout X amount of days, it'll definitely be a germ free environment (given until it stops smelling/looking "clean"). For those concerned about the solution gathering bacteria or dust on the surface, you could probably just put plastic wrap over it with poked holes to allow enough air circulation. Beyond that, you could give your dental appliance another rinse/brush in hydrogen peroxide and rinse well and that should kill any remnant germs. All in all, this works, and it works as advertised. It's removed deep yellow staining and has almost restored my night guard to the translucency of when I first got it.

Good cleaner for mouth guard. I make it last 10 days writing a date with a sharpie on the packet when to swap out for new packet. It really has no odor or taste. I use a toothbrush to clean the Mouthguard after soaking. Just set a reminder to know when to take your mouthguard out of the rinse to allow for drying time. Recommend.

i bought this to clean my full set of dentures i have never been impressed with polident products.....they just dont clean very well i still have to brush my dentures after a cleaning. i tried this for the first time today i drink coffee all day and smoke i was so impressed with this product my dentures are still white as they were when i cleaned them this morning 15 hours later no dull marks, no yellow still white as ever!!!! I am deff a fan now thank you smart guard well worth the money good buy too

This stuff is amazing- one packet really lasts for like 10 days to keep cleaning my mouth guard so it’s a great value, but also it doesn’t contain the cancer-causing and mouth-irritating “persulfates” that other cleaners like “RetainerBrite” have. Thankfully, I seem to be allergic to the other kinds because my mouth burns from using my mouth guard after soaking it in the other stuff. But after researching it, I discovered it’s worse than that. Those other brands have known-to-be-toxic and cancer causing chemicals! And we soak our retainer in it and suck on it all night. The FDA has failed to crack down on it, but I will be using safe brands like this one from now on. Great product!

Product works good but, in order to get up to 110 cleanings they want you to re-use solution for 7-10 days. There was actually 11 packets in the package so, marketing is a little misleading. Not sure if I would repurchase for that reason. I personally want fresh product for each cleaning.

In the end, it's a solid three stars from me - not bad, but not exceptional either.

I love this product. I could never remove the tea stains from my mouth guard. Now they come off easily.

This powder is okay, but there weren’t 110 packets in the box at all! More like 20. Very misleading
