LG Electronics GP08NU20 8X Super-Multi Slim DVD+/-RW Dual Layer External Drive (White)

I bought this burner to record some home videos from my cannon HD camcorder. This worked great. The only problem is it is supposed to record in ALL formats (DVD -R or DVD + R.) However, when I went to finally burn the disc, my computer said that I needed a DVD - R disc. I had put a DVD +R disc into the burner and the computer told me to change over. I re -read the burner instructions and it definely says it burns to all formats. I do not know a great deal about computers or burning disc, but I do not know why I had to go out and purchase some DVD-R disc when I had some DVD +R disc on hand. Maybe someone reading this could enlighted me. I am not even sure if it is the burners fault or just the way the canon HD camcorder recorded the vacation. Other than that it worked great. I would highly recommend this burner.

When my built in DVD/CD crashed I wanted something affordable to play and record CDs and DVD. The laptop is old and I didn't want to go to the expense of having a new one installed. This external drive fit the bill. I just plugged it in and it was ready to go. I didn't even use the software included. It is a little flimsy but for the money you cant go wrong.

You just never know when IT will put out an ISO that is close to 4.6GB ( I kid you not I had to try and deal with an image where the first ISO was something like 4.56GB ... wth!!! seriously ) . In such events of cruelty (or disregard for providing useful help to users) this is a handy tool.I'm not sure what to say about Power2Go (which ships with this burner) besides that it's OK. Better software exists.But the burner is awesome and going strong - and that is what I bought (not the software that came with it).

Actually I'm not really sure what to say about it, since I got for my sister. I just gave it 3 stars since I know she liked it.

This is the 2nd LG Dual Layer Burner I've tried. I will not purchase another LG again. Both of them were supposed to burn Dual Layer Disks. The 1st model I tried burned regular DVD's OK but would not burn Dual Layers at all. No help from LG when we called them about it. Tried this model which is a different model hoping to have better luck. Will occasionally burn some Dual Layers but throwing out about 75% of the disk we tried. Not a bad batch of disks...they work fine in my computers Dual Layer Burner. Tried calling LG again with the error code to see if they could help out and no luck again. I will be returning this burner today.

I liked previous books by Dan brown. This book is much better than lost symbol. The plot was riveting and the topic is very current and exciting. Dan brown did not let us down on this one.

works great w/ my macbook. no noise. only disappointing thing was that the cd that came with it works only with windows. i didn't need the cd to make it work so i'm over that. just plug in and that's it. great!

Good unit, I can use it on my laptop, desktop PC or mac.Portable, Plug & Play and user friendly.And can you believe it was inexpensive.I wish it was black, but hey who's complaining?
