Frenchies Velvet Coated French Hair Pin, Non Slip, 20 Count, Red

I purchased the brown color, comes with two sizes- smaller and larger. They’re not flimsy, actually work. I used a couple of long ones and a small one to put up my hair for a french twist style, within less than a minute. They feel snug & don’t come loose. Love them!

These have become a staple in my toiletries kit! They held up my wedding hair in 95 degree heat and humidity and are currently helping me wrangle my new bangs. I love the fuzziness and the color actually matches my natural red hair—which is incredibly rare when it comes to products!

Love that the gray hairpins blend in perfectly with silver hair. Just two or three hairpins will hold my hair in an updo or partial updo, and they’re easy to use and stay put all day because of the flocking. It’s nice to have both large and small sizes - the small ones are great for stray strands on a windy day. They're super light weight, of course, and so work great for finer hair as they add no bulk. The flocking begins to wear eventually, but no complaints - these are still worth it.

I saw the price when on a hunt for a large bundle of Bobby Pins and wondered why it was so much. After seeing their velvet and the company is well reviewed I caved. Pros REALLY stay in Comes with two sizes Works great on thick or thin hair and hold up the messiest of buns to smooth slick backs Cons The box is cute but there isnt anyway to store it once you open them. For the price I really think you need more than the amount. Does have a little learning curve of the pressure to shove it in your hair so wasnt easy as a smooth one but thats the trade off.

Great grip, gentle and lightweight! These amazing hair pins are worth the investment. They provide excellent hold. If you have fine hair you have found the solution! Told several friends with different hair textures and styles and they love them like I do. So easy! They blend in and will hold all day (even in windy conditions). TOP TIP: avoid use on wet hair to preserve the flocking.

I have incredibly fine, thin, wavy hair that breaks easily due to medical issues. I like to put my hair up in buns, but most things either require my hair to be twisted really tight, cause breakage when I take them out, or are too heavy and fall out because my hair simply can't support them. These pins are absolutely amazing! Just one of the 3" pins holds even a loose librarian bun all day, is so light and comfortable that I forget it's there, and even held without pulling, deforming, or poking when I forgot to take it out before bed. The velvety flocking has better grip than the rubber or silicone coatings on other pins that I've tried and has a bit of resistance when I take the pins out of my hair but doesn't pull enough to cause breakage (but I do take care not to just yank them out). I took a star off for sturdiness because if you damage the flocked coating the rest peels off easily and the star off from value is because I only really use the 3" pins. The 2" pins would be great if I had thicker hair and needed to secure strays, but as it stands I don't really have any use for them. I wish I could get 20 count packs of just the 3" pins but the only options available at this time are 100 count packs or the variety pack with only 10 of the size that I actually use.

These are genius. Stay out. I have lots of fine hair. I can do a low bun with one of these. Simply amazing.

These are amazing. I’ve been trying to figure out how to do a French twist for years and these are the only thing that worked for me. I only need 3 long pins to pull it off and it works!! I’m a ballet dancer and it really holds! Worth the price!

I love these. I have thin and fine hair and all the hair accessories just slide off and don’t grip the hair. These are smaller and more grippy than normal hair pins and almost invisible once in the hair. Not yet sure of their longevity but so far I’m loving them. Edit: after some use the grippy layer does start to peel off so not fabulous for longevity but I still think they are worth it.

Edit: Just a note. The “flocking” or soft coating on the pins doesn’t stay in place (at least for some of the pins). However, the pins continue to be extremely comfortable. They still work as the best pins I have ever used. Wow!! I bought these on a whim. Years ago I used pins that were in the same design, but not “velvet coated”. I’ve been using long bobby pins since then and they worked well. But oh my goodness, the Frenchies Ultra Flocked pins are like a dream to use! My hair is securely in place, and the pins feel wonderful!! Absolutely no pulling, no discomfort, just a lovely sensation. In fact, I don’t feel the pins at all. They are expensive, but they are worth every penny. It’s nice to have the two lengths of the pins. I use the long pins near the base of my French roll and short ones at the top. I am delighted with this purchase.

These held my up do in place all through the wedding, walking to the car in wind and for heavy duty dancing at the reception! In a practice run, kirby grips worked their way out but these didn't. They felt secure and tight.

These are fantastic! I have fine, dead-straight hair, and these keep my ballet buns and French twists in place during ballet classes and dance performances. I got them for a few of the other dancers (with different types of hair), and they all loved them as well.

I was very sceptical about these pins. £18 for hair pins is crazy. But I could put 20 cheap hairpins in my very fine hair for an up do and it will possibly hold but look and feel awful. I put ONE of these in a basic updo and it felt secure. I would never rely on just one but it felt like I could. Wow. The only issue for me is the two sizes in one pack. I will never need the longer size so paying quite a lot for a pack with both lengths feels wasteful.
