Do they make much noise when they are spinning?

No, not noisy! They are very small so not a good idea for kids 3 and under unless they are very responsible. Some kids put nothing in their mouths. Others put everything in their mouths. I got them to add to Operation Christmas Child boxes and I won't be putting them in the younger boxes.
