Does the garland very thin?

Not at all,i think they are ok, maybe made of pvc. Actually better for the purpose we used it for. They are durable and reusable, nice decorations very real looking.

Can you use them outside for decorations or indoor strictly

If you put it outdoors i recommend gluing the strings in place so they don't fly off or move around in the wind.

It's cardboard and twine. We hung them in front of our garage doors outside. They lasted well and we are using them this year as well. They are light but look great from the street.
