Top quality, after years of use I bought a second pair.
I used this very same model for many years. Not sure when it first came out (mine has the black color around the ankle, this model is red in that area).Super traction. Zero complaints about wear and tear. I see somebody posted pictures of a torn shoe. Hard to believe this was from regular use.Who is this shoe for? Think Dolomites. Think working as a guide. Think Via Ferrata. Can you "scramble" - sure. Can you climb - absolutely no. Toe-box is wide and comfortable for all of the above and will not feel right when you climb. How is the traction. Superb. How does it feel after a long day. It feels perfect.Do you look fine both on the mountain and in the coffee shop at the base - yup.It has enough color to look "happy", it is subdued enough to look pro, and it brings the La Sportiva creds which are impeccable.... And this is why I got a second pair after years of use. Afraid they will discontinue that design.

Great all around shoe for hiking
Great shoe for hiking. Solid and great grip in all conditions. Water resistant but not water proof. Toe box is small but creates a snug fit. Go 1/2 a size more than usual for comfortable fit.

La Sportiva Approach
First and foremost, this shoe is sized way differently than shoes in the U.S. I wear men’s size 10 in the U.S., or a U.K. size 9.5, European size 44 in normal circumstances. This shoe will not fit well in your normal size. I had to go to an 11.5 men’s U.S., so 1.5 sizes up from my normal size. One size up probably could have worked but I felt it would have been uncomfortable for the toe box on this shoe can be a little tighter than usual. Please be advised that you must try this shoe on before buying it. With all that being said, the shoes themselves are comfortable and fit well with proper sizing. I have not had quite enough time in them yet, but so far the time I have had in them have been quite comfortable and pleasant. They are flexible and you can easily adjust the tightness or looseness of the shoe via the lacing. I have been able to wear them for long periods of time without soreness or aching feet. I gave a rating of 4 stars based upon my experience so far, and deducted one star solely for the sizing discrepancy. I feel, in my opinion this is a quality shoe and I am comfortable with recommending it to others.

Best fit ever
I have a women's size 11.5 AA Narrow shoe size that is tough to fit. I bought the men's size 10.5 and it fits perfectly, ie narrow heel and enough toe space and arch support. Walked 2 miles the first time and they felt wonderful. I must have a 3/4" sole application for my short leg. The man who does this correction for me told me about them. He knows his stuff!

Quality pair of shoes!
I've had several pairs of approach shoes and this pair is the best. I use them as daily wear for the sole stiffness. One of the few pairs of shoes not using superfeet insoles. As daily wear, read some of the other reviews, buy a FULL SIZE LARGER! I wore these for the last two weeks for over 12hrs a day on concrete, pavement,, gravel and river rock. Zero issues with material, stitching or sole. They are tough. Worth every penny and kept my feet in good shape and my back feels better. Just a good product. Cheers

Overall too narrow with minimal arch support.
I've been out hiking in these shoes now four separate occasions and they have really messed up my feet. Shoes are very narrow with minimal arch support. I normally wear 11 so I went up half a size; perhaps I should have gone up a full size.My longest hike was 12.5 miles and I limped back the last three miles with blisters and pinched toes.I even tried stretching the width of the shoes in between hikes with little success. The shoe might be right for someone with narrow feet who doesn't need much support but I will be donating these to charity.

My husband loves these shoes
My husband loves to long distance walk but has narrow somewhat inflexible feet. The nice feature of these shoes is the laces start way down by the toes, making them easier to outing and easier to get a snug stable fit. He has used expensive Hoka and Salomon hiking shoes and he thinks these are superior .
