I am pretty sure these work!
I am going to give it 5 stars even if I can't tell you that it works. Like everyone said in the reviews, it smells like sulfur and tastes like sulfur. I thought I would be able to get past it and just choke the taste down with a large gulp of OJ or some flavored beverage to mask the taste, but my brain told me "You better think twice about that thought." and after about a week, I gave up. I read reviews on others and apparently they all will taste that way so it is nothing on Mary Ruth's. I gave 5 stars because I have used many other Mary Ruth's and all have worked so no reason these should not work. I just can't get past the flavor and smell.

Highly recommend Mary Ruth's Organic NAC supplements!
I've tried other NAC supplements, and they didn't have the mg dosage needed to truly maintain a healthy system! Mary Ruth's organic NAC supplements at 1000 mg daily with two capsules and no extra unnecessary supplement fillers is the winner for me! This is my constant choice for supporting my glutathione levels. Don't be discouraged by the Sulphur smell. It's well worth it!

It is supposed to smell nasty
For anyone turned off by the smell, it is 1000% normal. I manufacture supps for a living. The odor can vary from batch to batch. NAC is a super star ingredient so get past the smell for the benefits. Consumers can be their own worst enemy sometimes bc of a lack of understanding. Its one of the reasons you rarely see NAC in a blended formula bc it will get bad reviews and returns bc of the smell. It does well as a single ingredient product bc those who know the benefits get past the smell and understand the ingredient. Make sure you take with food and a glass of water. It can give you heartburn on an empty stomach. Most supplements do better with food anyway as some are fat soluble. So not only do you avoid a tummy ache, you absorb more when you have some food in your stomach.

High quality, but does smell strongly!
I am on my 3rd bottle of this NAC. I picked this brand because I trust the quality and safety. Price was reasonable for the quality of product and easily comparable to picking it up mass market or in a drug store. Especially for this brand. YES THIS STUFF SMELLS AWFUL. Like awful, awful. But that strong sulfur smell is a actually a sign that this product is what it says it is: good, high quality NAC. No unnecessary added ingredients, chemicals, or sugar. Tips: Try to take it with a flavored beverage. Don’t breathe in when you open and take it. If you don’t smell it, you don’t really taste it. And start low, go slow. Not everybody can tolerate everything. The pills are semi-large, so keep that in mind. I struggle swallowing sometimes though and have had no problem getting them down.

Good Supplement
I’ve been researching NAC for quite some time then finally purchased it. Of course as with anything new and my level of anxiety, i was uneasy to start it but i’m glad i did. It’s beneficial in many ways but i primarily use it for severe OCD. I haven’t been taking it long enough as yet to comment on just how effective it is but i can say the past couple of days i have felt a little less anxious and slightly less compulsions. I repurchased so maybe in the future i can review it’s effectiveness much better. As for the smell, i sarcastically laugh when i read a comment about how bad it smells. Of course it doesn’t smell fantastic, it’s an amino acid obviously. Just don’t smell the bottle. Swallow it with a beverage and it’s over.

Worst smell ever
I wish I would have read reviews. I bought this quickly because I know it’s a trusted brand and this supplement would help with immunity. However, when I opened the bottle the smell was so incredibly awful and overpowering it was honestly shocking. I can’t tell if this is normal but from the reviews I realize this isn’t an isolated experience. There’s zero percent chance that I will be swallowing something that smells like rotten eggs, no matter what it’s supposed to help with. I am so disappointed and upset that I spent money in our tight budget to buy this product. That’s was desperation in the middle of the flu will do, I guess. Don’t bother buying :(

NAC and "repetitive behavior"
My young daughter does not have an official ASD diagnosis (maybe we will get one soon) but she does exhibit mild signs, including rather unique "stimming"/"repetitive" behaviors . Not your typical hand flapping or jumping, or finger posturing, but muscle tensing of her entire body. This "stimming" behavior has stumped her pediatrician and had us on a 5 month wait to see a neurologist. She also tends to stutter when her "stimming" is occurring frequently and she has always been a toe-walker. I couldn't just sit back for 5 months and let her suffer. The muscle tensing causes her to have leg pain throughout the day and has also put her in dangerous situations because when she needs to do it, she'll do it. It was also occurring so frequently (50+ times a day, easily), it was interfering with her everyday day life (playing and being a kid). She's dropped to the floor and smacked her head on concrete floors, teetered on the edge of the stairs or couch, etc. As a family, we were on constant watch to keep her safe. I had to do something. I started reading online doing many nights and hours of research. I started by putting her on methyl Bs, Methyl folate, Omega 3s, and magnesium glycinate. I saw improvements in other behaviors like eye contact, interactions and speech, but not her "stimming" . I started to worry that maybe this wasn't stimming. Maybe a unique type/display of seizure activity? I did more research and that's when I decided to try NAC. Life changing! About 2 weeks in and she had her first day in over 6 months free of the muscle tensing. She's now been on it for 6 weeks. She's still having a few episodes a day (mostly first thing in the morning or around nap time) but she's also having days of zero episodes. I would say she's experienced a reduction of about 80%. Maybe it will continue to improve. Her stuttering is also gone and only surfaces on days that her tensing is increased. Her toe walking, however, has not improved. She's always had tighter muscle tone, so Maybe the toe walking is connected to that and may not improve? Her neurology appointment is in 2 weeks . For those wondering, my daughter is 40 pounds and I started with 250 mg (half of a capsule) in the morning and 250 mg at night. After about 10ish days I increased to 500 mg in the morning and 500 mg at night. A few days on that dose and that's when we saw the first day of no tensing ! I do not plan on increasing until further insight, as she is on the same amount that they recommend for adults . I'm not a doctor. I'm just a mom who was desperate for help . Definitely do your own research on NAC and dosages. I can say , my daughter has had a very positive outcome so far!

Mary Ruth’s for the win!
These smell horrible lol, but they don’t taste like they smell. They almost have no taste other than when you burp it’s a small aftertaste. They’re medium sized capsules so they’re easy to take if you don’t have issues taking/digesting pills. I love the Mary Ruth’s brand. I also purchase the elderberry in this brand and it works well. I’ll check back in after a using for final thoughts
