Dont want your table to break or suffer? then buy it
For those pc setups with multiple monitors like myself, you need a very sturdy arm to hold them. This little guy will hold very heavy loads and the value for the money you can even buy two. I have dual ultrawides, the ease of installation and the performance it was a no brainer. No cable management needed to use it.

Best value for the size
As far as I'm aware, bigger is better in terms of using a reinforcement plate to spread out the weight from a monitor arm. Prices may change but similar sized plates where roughly 1.5x the price. I cannot attest for the quality when compared to said plates but can only, hopefully, assume that steel = steel. The only downside is the aesthetics of having a large plate, which for me is negated by having a black deck, using a mat to partially cover the front, and by simply using the the plate + mount as desk space that is still available for use (I bought two reinforcement plates for a dual arm set up). With the downsides mostly negated it seems like a no brainer to choose this over similarly priced, but significantly smaller, reinforcement plates for peace of mind as that is the primary reason to get this in the first place.

I installed a 27" monitor on a 30" arm mount and attached it to a 3/8" desk, this helped!
So if you attach a heavy object to the end of a long arm, there's going to be a lot of twisting force at the base of where that object is attached. It's the same reason why holding a weight very far away from your body is harder than holding it close to yourself. When I installed my monitor on a very long cantilever arm mount and then attached it to the inexpensive desk I purchased from Amazon, I was afraid that I could possibly have the whole thing rip from its base and destroy the composite board desk and the monitor in the process. Luckily the desk is designed in a way that I was able to mount both the upper and lower plates to the desk, this allows the force that is clamped and twisting against the desk to be dispersed and since it has been installed I have noticed no more creaks from the desk as I move the orientation of the monitor around to suit my needs throughout the days and weeks of use. (According to Amazon's AI, this review didn't talk about ease of use, appearance, quality, or stability so here goes) The plates are solid metal with thin foam pads attached so they are very high quality. I bought the black ones, so they blend into my black desk very well, so their appearance is very nice. All I had to do was loosen the mount just enough to slide the metal piece underneath and the top piece literally rests on the desk so easy of use and ease of assembly are as easy as can be. The entire review was about how the torque of the monitor was dispersed.over a larger area so the stability is exactly what it needs to be. Hopefully you and the Amazon AI think this review is helpful now.

Good
I bought several of these and one of them had some sharp edges I had to file down. Otherwise it was fine. Sturdy and easy to use, helpful with my desk.

Perfect for a glass desk
My desk is glass because of dry erase functionality. It works well to protect the desk.

Best Glass Desk Protector for Monitor Mounts!! Must buy!
This is perfect for a glass desk! It protects your glass desk while balancing the weight for double screens. No scratches and no cracks. Itโs easy to install it fits perfectly for any size glass desk. I highly recommend using this before installing any double screen monitor holders to your glass desk.

Good Quality, flip it over and drill a hole to through bolt instead of clamping, its safer!
This is a must have for thin faux wood desks and glass desks. It can serve a dual functionality. The one shown in the photo or, as I used it. Upside down with the break formed lip turned up towards the ceiling and a hole drilled in the center. I had to through bolt my monitor mounting arm rather than clamping but it serves the same purpose; which is to stiffen the desk substrate sufficiently to take the vertical dead load (weight) and dead load moment (bending/torque). You do not want to see your desk deflecting inward when you pull your 27" monitors closer to your eyes. It is solid steel plate of good quality and looks good underneath the monitor column. Installation was easy despite having to drill a hole. There are really no adjustments other than flipping it or modifying it to suite your application.
