Useful for testing if components are damaged
It works, sort of. I received mine today and I tried it with a few different types of components. The components were all new. It correctly identified an N-channel MOSFET, a PNP transistor and an LED. hFE on the BJT was out of spec by a factor of 10,000 or so. Measurements on the diode were a bit better but I don't think this device will useful for quantitative testing. What it should be able to do is tell you if a component is altogether fried or not. This is what I bought it for and it's a great value for that.

Worked as advertised
An instruction sheet would have been nice.

Instructions needed to turn it on
This review is for the "Aideepen Transistor Tester".I bought this variant of the Atmega328 tester because I wanted the 9 volt battery option for easy replacement. The item looks cheap but does the job. I compared readings with my multi-meter and the results were spot on. I like the plug and play convenience and variety of components it can test. Inserting components directly into the meter works better than using the loosely fitting socket adapter. My biggest criticism is the backwards way the unit is turned on. You have to press TEST-OFF-TEST buttons in order for the unit to power on. The product didn't come with instructions, so I pressed TEST/ON button thinking that alone would do it. All I got was a blank screen, so I thought it was broken. I was about to return the item when my kid magically brought it to life. It never occurred to me I had to press a button sequence to turn on the device.

updated - seller sent a replacement
Seller sent a replacement. This is a great device for quick measurements. Original item had stopped working after few days. Should you face the same problem, you can reach out to the seller. Customer service was very responsive and helpful.

Very cheaply made, but does work.
Although this product has an incredibly cheap look and feel, it does do what the description says it does. The measurments seem to be reasonably accureate. My only real issue with it is that the plug in socket does not always make reliable contact and will give false readings. I just use the included test leads and they work fine.Beware that the product does not include any instructions. I find that using the first three terminal positions in the upper row- have not tried the others yet- works fine for testing the transistors and resistors. However, to measue capacitance and inductance, I use terminal positions 1 and 3.
