All the basics were covered, and I enjoyed the "looking to the past" section of the text highlighting important research discoveries in exercise physio and the corresponding people that conducted the research. Review: I like the book, it is the first book I have read extensively using kindle - The bad part: I did not know how to use the features of kindle that would permit me to book mark and make notes until very recently. The good part: I found the text had a wealth of data I would want to refer to. I expect to use it frequently. Worth the investment for me. My back ground: 76 yo practicing physician who trains intensely most days of the week. I also encounter older men in my practice who are in terrible shape to whom I give advice (when asked).

Great book for a cheap price to rent!
I enjoyed this book for one of my kinesiology class. I wish I knew who I rented from because I left two things in the book and hope if I could receive it back.

Amazing in its simplicity
Finally, a no nonsense path to fitness for all ages. The best and clearest book I've ever read for those who prefer to work out at home.

Excellent for athletes— less cumbersome than MacArdle (although MacArdle is excellent.
Great read if you are primarily interested in training
