Very bad screen.
It is a failed phone with a large, ineffective screen that peels off quickly and it is very expensive. I changed the screen at a Samsung agency, but it did not last more than a month until it peeled off again. They did not give me a warranty because they know that the quality is not good.

I was on the fence with this one. Folding phone, what for? Will it be practical as my daily driver? Why not use a tablet and a normal candy bar phone? Having contemplated the pros and cons for a while, I decided it wasn't for me, that is, until I saw it in all its glory in the Samsung store. I compared the BBC website between my iPhone 13 Pro max and Fold 4 in the unfolded state. The screen estate on the Fold 4 was beautiful. I was honestly blown away. This was a technological marvel, so well designed. Here are my opinions after using it for a month. The form factor is spot on. Unfolded, the screen size makes it my go to device which replaces the tablet and Kindle. Browsing PDF documents, Excel, Outlook seems native to it, the screen estate is perfect. Browsing the internet, online shopping, google maps are all a different experience, similar to what you'd find on a high end tablet. A normal candybar phone will not give you this experience. Gaming is on a completely different level. I play Stardew Valley, and without any doubt, this is the best platform to play on (and I have it on PC and Switch). There is a crease visible in certain lighting angles but disappears if viewed directly straight on. Weight distribution is spot on with no tiredness on the wrists after prolonged use. One of the best features is the customisable task bar at the bottom that enables the switching of apps with ease. There's the multitasking feature where you can drag multiple apps that fit neatly across horizontally, vertically or floating and can be added as a shortcut. With the new chip, it is blazingly fast. The speakers are near identical to that of the iPhone 13 pro max. It plays a nice deep rich sound that can be used as a standalone player. Camera is great. The amount of times you take a photo, then opening the phone to review the shot, is simply breathtaking. The battery life is surprisingly good. I can get a full day with a mixture of folded/unfolded, browsing, YouTube, gaming. Battery size is the same as its predecessor, but the new chip makes it more energy efficient. When folded, the cover screen is narrower than your usual phones which makes it trickier to text. To address this, I installed Swiftkey which enables swipe texting as well as predicted correction. I have set up the cover screen for essential apps, and found it to be very useable. With the phone being narrower, the bonus is using it one handed is so much easier with the thumb sitting naturally on the power button making it easy to turn on/off. I purchased the Spigen tempered glass screen protector for the front for added protection. This fitted perfectly as Samsung saw sense to keep the screen flat unlike the the curved side screens on the S22 ultra, etc. Out and about, you do notice its bulk. Twice as thick and slightly heavier than candybar phones, I could definitely feel its weight in my front jeans pocket (with an additional pouch for protection as well as the Samsung case). Is it for you? For most, price will be deciding factor. It is ridiculously expensive. Samsung, please review your prices. If however, you get good deals from Samsung I'd say it is definitely worth it. Keep it in a pouch for added protection - you don't want to drop this! Above all, it is fun. I have never enjoyed using a smart phone in a long time until now. The last time was probably the introduction of the original iPhone or the Galaxy S2.

Works well with good on screen keyboard and stylus integration, so can be used as a mini laptop for writing, as well as being good for viewing things. You can set it up so you can switch almost seamlessly between using it unfolded and closed eg for making calls, or taking pictures. It's the best option nowadays if you are after something like a Psion handheld computer, that's also a good phone, provided you don't want Linux as it doesn't run it. The folding screen is great and much better to use than appears in the shop where it always seems to be clamped to an anti-theft stand. You don't see the fold really when you are using it, as it's an 8mm, or so, wide shallow mainly concave bend and only about 1mm deep. The build quality is good. There's no SD card slot. The screen does seem to show fingerprints quite easily but the Fold stylus, you can get for it, works well. I got mine for over 50% off, making it a bit better value for money, probably as the Z Fold 5 is out now.

This device is amazingly good, it’s compact yet large screen there too. It is reasonably good battery life, charging time not epic, but acceptable, even with high wattage charger. Camera amazing similar to my S21 FE, it’s very fast and a memorable experience as in the future here today! Ok, I’ll be mindful it has a folding screen and treat with extreme care. Value for money unparalleled ever on anything I’ve ever purchased, cheers Amazon!

Not worth £1649 there is a fold 5 on the way. To get the screens to divide you really need the Samsung pen, at this price it should included . The righ side has the volume and on and off buttons. They are very recessed and should be more proud, also the volume control is stiff so overall very fiddly indeed. Girls, if you have nail extensions you'll struggle with this depending which case you buy and you need to buy a strong case. I didn't realise till I opended the packet there are no headphone Jack opening, so like me, I had to buy a pair of Bluetooth earbuds, just a few weeks prior I bought a brilliant pair of wired in ear monitoring , they are gathering dust in the draw, that really annoyed me. Sound quality is top draw, especially with good earbuds, no fancy sound enhancers just a straight brilliant sound. The active noise cancelling is superb combined with buds that support this, I bought Sennheiser CX from Amazon and they pair well with this phone and are a truly awesome match and overall uncoloured clear sound with plenty of bass. The camera and video are really superb packed full of all the features you love and more, crystal clear pix and video, the best I've seen. answerphone has some useful features. I only open the fold out when I'm at home and boy does blow you away, turn up the brighness and you have a screen dripping with colours, they really got this right. I watched a film the other night with my earbuds in and what an experience. I still had battery left to play some music before I went sleep. The battery is well powerful , best to switch it off and it'll give 100% in an hour , usb c charger port, buy a powerful charging plug, you won't regret the top charging speeds. An odd thing, its very slippery and easy to drop but it seems to be a tough guy. Its a bulky unit, if you wear skin tight jeans you might struggle to get this in your back pocket where its easily visible what it is, don't have it on show when you're out hold it tight, everyone wants a look especially if you fold out. Its a front pocket job or jacket or bag. I have a foldable suede case off Amazon I keep my cards there and keep the strap on my wrist and carry it around. I hope all this helps you, its a well built unit and I'm so glad I bought one, but its not perfect. Go on youtube for tutorials , you'll be well impressed. This is not just a social phone you can use it for business. It comes with office pre loaded with a split keyboard if you want it. I use my calendar which is linked to other phones in and out, so remember its business functionality. Well, bye then, Quentin

Amazon Fails with Big-Ticket Items – Warranty and Support Are a Joke I bought the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, a big-ticket item, with a 3-year warranty from Amazon, expecting the purchase process and after-sales support to match the premium price tag. Unfortunately, this experience has been a total letdown. 1. No Online Warranty Documentation: Despite buying this product online, there is no digital copy of the warranty available in my Amazon account. For a big-ticket purchase, this is baffling. If Amazon cannot provide proper documentation for warranties, what’s the point of buying such products from them? 2. Device Failed in Warranty: Barely over a year later, this high-end phone has failed catastrophically, refusing to boot and displaying only a blank screen with a cryptic message about a "normal start issue." For a product marketed as cutting-edge, this is beyond disappointing. 3. Critical Work Reliance – No Support from Amazon: Phones like this are not just gadgets—they are work essentials. When such an expensive device fails, customers need immediate and effective support. Instead, I’ve been given vague instructions and told to send the phone back to Samsung in its original box, with no guidance on: Data Security: How can I ensure my sensitive data is safe during the repair process? Work Continuity: How am I supposed to manage without a replacement device or compensation for the disruption? Original Box Requirement: Why does the box matter more than the product’s warranty? Does this mean my warranty is now void because I discarded packaging after a year? 4. Amazon and Big-Ticket Items – A Fundamental Problem: Amazon is simply not equipped to handle premium, high-value products. There is no specialized support or escalation process for resolving warranty issues with big-ticket items. This isn’t just frustrating—it’s a betrayal of trust for customers who invest in such purchases through Amazon. Final Outcome: My trust in Amazon as a platform for purchasing high-end products has been shattered. Amazon’s forte lies in smaller, low-risk purchases—not big-ticket items like this. Until Amazon can demonstrate robust warranty support and accountability for premium products, I will think twice before buying anything expensive here again. This entire experience has been a waste of money and time.
