Are these sturdy, good quality?

They seem to be fairly well built and have held up for my uses: freshwater pan fish and occasionally when I'm frogging for bass in cover.

Can the snap be removed from the swivel?

the answer is yes, but not easy needle nose pliers and a sharp object. but this unsafe., or wire cutters. you can buy swivel the right size. and faster and alot safer. hope this helps.

are these swivels pewter or silver in color?

More like a cross between silver and dark gray
