I am unfamiliar with the Fashion Mate...this foot is for a low shank. The manual for that machine should tell you if the shank is high or low. **Q: Does this work for a Brother HQ1500?** A: As the Brother HQ1500 is a high shank sewing machine, this foot will not fit. **Q: How many are supposed to be in the package? The picture shows two, but there was only one.** A: The image or photo of item is showing 2 views of the foot for reference so you can see it from different angles the side and the bottom. this lets you know what kind of foot it is. I was looking for this foot as I have the normal regular equal sided teflon foot myself already and was hoping to find this item. So far I haven't found the one needed for my slantamatic 501 over 60 year old machines. But I had no problem in understanding you'll get one foot and what the image was representing was just two view of one foot for reference. I think sellers especially foriegn sellers need to realize in the USA and Canada markets is we expect a photo to be what we get because I guess we sometimes are lazy not reading the entire description or titles.
