Beco 8 Baby Carrier Newborn to Toddler, Cool Mesh, 7-45 lbs, Camo

I was searching for a replacement for the Bjorn when my baby out grew it, he really enjoyed forward facing out, so I wanted to have that option. I tried out the Bjorn, Stokke, Ergo, Lillebaby, Tula, Boba. Of those that forward face out (the first 4), I found the Beco 8 to be the easiest and most comfortable. Because forward facing out is for when the baby is awake, and I would likely have to turn the baby around on longer journeys, I personally found that how the carrier converted into the forward facing out and back to forward facing in an important feature. Baby enjoyed all the carriers, but for me, a 20lb child needs to be properly supported so that it doesn't strain my back and the carrier need to be easy to put on and adjust. The Ergo fit low on me despite many adjustments and just felt odd, additionally it only goes up to 33lbs which I worried would leave me with a short usage period. It did have a easy conversion to forward facing out, but to me it seemed like the fabric was pinching the baby's legs a bit The Stokke was very complicated, I took it home in hopes that having enough adjustable straps would ensure that I could make it fit, I just needed to figure it out right? Nope, no matter how I adjusted it, the shoulder straps put awkward strain on both my husband and I, the straps should have sat flat but once the baby was in it pulled away. The carrier was incredibly time consuming to get on--but you can do a lot of adjustments before you put the baby on you. The carabiners that hook on were cumbersome, annoying and truly just for show, a simpler snap/hook could have done the same thing and not been in the way (plus I imagine that hunk of metal near the baby's hands/head could get hot in the sun!). I wanted so much to like their carrier, but after a few weeks I had to return it. The Lillebaby fit pretty well, it was pretty easy to figure out and comfortable once properly adjusted. But I share my carrier with my husband and various sitters, so I couldn't just leave it in 1 position, I need to be able to adjust it frequently. The strap material did not slide through the buckles easily, thus adjusting the straps once I had the baby in was VERY difficult. I found myself putting the baby in, then taking him out to re-adjust, then putting him back in and so on. My normally chill baby would get frustrated with me, I would get frustrated, but after 2 weeks I decided to return this carrier. Also a big design flaw on the lillebaby is that to do forward facing out you must take the entire carrier off and struggle with removing the 2 loops on the belt portion (requires 2 hands) and snap them up. This was by far the most difficult conversion on all the carriers I tried. When I reviewed my difficulties with this carrier, not being able to easily switch from forward facing out to other positions was a big negative, if I was at the grocery store I would not have a place to put down my child while I messed with the Lillebaby. So I continued my search. The Beco 8 has exceeded my expectations for a carrier, it's comfortable, easy to use, has many positions and a few extra features that are nice to have. Out of the box, I quickly snapped on the belt, picked up the baby and put on the shoulder straps, done in moments no fidgeting no fussing. It was incredibly easy to adjust all the straps to fit and the chest strap (the center of the "H" shape if you wear it backpack style) adjusts up and down to fit many heights and weights. Being over 6' it fit my tall frame well, my other users also found it very comfortable and easy to adjust. I love the pocket, the hood, the cooling feature, optional lumbar support, etc. The front facing out is incredibly easy to convert, unsnap 2 snaps in the front and then snap them together, turn child around and put straps back over your shoulder. Baby appreciated the smooth action of the conversion and when he wants out (to eat or other things) I can get him out in a moment--release the chest strap, take off the 2 shoulder straps and you're done. The infamous safety buckles that this carrier shares with the Beco Gemini that require 2 hands to release are only on the shoulder straps (where a toddler could potentially reach and release while you are holding them), if you are wearing the carrier straps backpack style you will never need to undo these. If you are criss crossing the straps, depending on your method of putting the carrier on, you may need to undo them to take the carrier off. When I wear the Beco 8 with the straps crossed I loosen the straps so I can slide them over my head as opposed to undoing the buckles--because the straps are so smooth to loosen and tighten, it's easier for me to put the carrier on in this method rather than attempting to grab the unhooked buckle from behind. It is made in china in case anyone asks, but the quality on my carrier was great. One final note, petite users may not be able to use the lumbar support because the padded section of the belt extends around your waist a decent bit. All in all a fabulous carrier, I am really impressed. I did also enjoy the Tula and Boba carriers but because they had no forward facing out option, I chose the Beco 8. If I were looking only at forward facing in and backpack positions, I would have chosen the Tula. Also I did not get to try out the Beco Gemini that I am told is very similar to the Beco 8 and should be on your radar as well if you're looking at the Beco 8. My new 8 arrived in the mail today and I thought I'd leave a little review for those considering it! I am a huge review reader and it was against my nature to make such a big purchase without reading a million reviews first. But, I'm SO glad I did! I am really loving this carrier. Some background info - I have tried a Tula (hated that the straps didn't cross) , lillebaby all seasons (way too big), soleil (liked the features but hated the fit of the waistband) and Gemini cool (my go to, but the mesh was kind of rough on my baby's legs). I'm a 5'0'', 100lb woman. My girl is five months old and right around 15lbs. She is about 26in tall. So, my first impression was that this carrier is pretty similar to a Gemini. The seat base is a bit wider, and the panel is a little taller, but the fit is similar. My baby jusssst fit without the infant insert, but we may use it for a few more weeks to be on the safe side. What I love about this carrier is the additional padding. The leg openings feel really nice, and my favorite addition is some padding behind the buckles that clip under your arms. That's awesome, because I accidentally clipped my babies arm skin once with the Gemini, and she got uncomfortable if she managed to work a hand under there. The straps were very comfortable. I love the lumbar support! The waist band just fits me on the smallest setting with the lumbar support, so somebody super tiny might have to take it off to get a tighter fit. I love the zip down panel feature. I took baby girl for a walk today and it was in the 70s and very sunny, and she didn't sweat at all. The carrier felt like it would be pretty warm with the panel zipped up, which will be nice for when we visit family in Michigan. The hood worked pretty well to keep the sun off her head. Another thing I LOVE is the size and accessibility of the pocket. You access it from the side now instead of the top. I don't know about everyone else, but I found it almost impossible to get into the pocket on the Gemini because the baby's butt obstructed it. No problem with that anymore! It's also pretty big, enough so to fit my iPhone 6 Plus and some keys. It zips, which feels more secure to me than Velcro. Also, for extra storage, the soleil pouch will fit on the buttons meant to hold the headrest down, with a little bit of stretching. Cons - the hood could be a little bigger, it took a little finagling to get it to completely cover the baby's head. I also don't love that the headrest needs to be up to use the hood; not a huge deal, but it seemed like it obstructed my girl's vision a little and she likes to see out when the hood is up. The straps were also pretty hard to pull and adjust, but I think they will probably loosen up with time. Also, this should be obvious from the pics, but - it's not really a "cute" carrier. The look is pretty utilitarian, haha. I'd rather be comfortable than have a cute print though, so it works for me! I'm going to dress it up with some cute suck pads. Overall, I am so happy I bought the 8. Definitely my goldilocks carrier, it does everything I need it to!

I have tried about 10 different baby carriers since having my first child in December of 2022 - from super expensive $200 ergobaby, to super cheap infantino from Walmart & everything in-between. I've tried sling carriers, wraps, hybrid carriers...you name it. This is hands down the most comfortable and easy to use carrier I've tried. The lumbar support is amazing if you struggle with any type of back pain. You can cross the straps in the back or use them normally just straight down your shoulders. This carrier has so many useful and practical features - the roll down cool mesh panel, the sun shade, the head support that you can flip up when your baby is sleeping or flip down when they're awake or if they're outward facing, the seat adjustment (regular/wide for when baby is bigger or narrow for smaller/younger babies)..it really is just an amazing carrier. I've used it with my now 6 month old on several outdoor activities including hikes and I've carried her both inward and outward and its been such a breeze and so comfortable for me every time. Also worth mentioning that I'm plus size (16-18 and around 240lbs) highly reccomend this carrier, especially for those plus size ladies or bigger guys and 100% to anyone who needs lumbar support or has back pain/issues!

I’m 5’8 and weigh 160 and my husband is 6’ and weighs 220 and this fits us both. I love the color and when I put it on I instantly liked it. I have no pain on shoulders or back. My baby is currently 6months old. The only problem I have Is when I face him outward his chubby legs seem to press in the cloth harder than I would like. Other than that I love it.

Let me start off by saying my babe hates the car seat. Grocery trips were difficult because of it and he’s too little to sit in the cart. Our last trip I put him in this and he was happy looking around the store and even fell asleep. Now for the product. It’s easy to put baby in and take them out. It adjusts easily with the straps and tightens easily once baby is in as well. We have only done facing inward so far as ours is not 15 pounds yet but he seems comfortable enough. It’s much quicker to put him in than some of the wrap carriers with more fabric which was huge for us because who wants to tie themselves up when baby is screaming. He also doesn’t slide down like he seemed to in the wrap carriers as he got bigger. The mesh seems comfortable for baby too and this carrier isn’t nearly as hot to wear as wrap carriers. Only downside I can see is if the straps are worn in backpack position they can rub on the back of a parents arms but so far it’s not a big enough deal to look for another product. The lumbar support is a nice add on but it’s a little frustrating that, for it to be centered at the back, it has to be over the buckle. Nothing big and definitely not unmanageable but worth mentioning. So far we are happy with it, and it’s been a great tool when we need to be hands free but baby wants to be close.

There is a baby carrier for everyone, this one just wasn’t for me. I found that the shoulder straps were too wide, they sat at the end of my shoulders. Definitely give yourself time to try it on and return it before you need to use it. I will say, that while it didn’t fit me well, it was made well and I loved the material, etc. I just wish it fit me better.

I love my BECO carriers! This 8 is by far the most comfortable carrier I've used. If you are choosing between this and the ergobaby, I'd go with this hands down. The cross straps make a huge difference for me. I wanted to buy this 8 for my first, but got the Gemini instead because it was in my budget. I loved and still love that Gemini. But when I saw this price for the BECO 8 I decided to spoil my second with a new carrier. Below I'll talk about the differences in case anyone else is choosing between them. For comparison, I have been so lucky to use three different brands of wraps, a baby Bjorn carrier, and an ergo baby (all hand me downs). Both BECO carriers are my favorite of the bunch. This 8 is heavier than the Gemini, and slightly more structured and padded with the extra features. That makes it slightly more fussy to put on and off than the Gemini, but a LOT more comfortable. I was surprised because the Gemini was already the most comfortable carrier I'd used. The cross strap design really makes a huge difference, and it's super easy for both my husband and I to get on and wear comfortably despite both having back issues. But the lumbar support and increased padding on this 8 I swear make the baby feel like he disappeared once I get the fit just right. Pros of this Beco 8: - The lumbar support really increases the comfort, makes a 14 pound baby feel weightless. - the extra pockets and hood offer warmth and weather protection - the infant cushion, while adding to complexity, does make it even easier to get a good, safe hips fit for the teeny tinies. Pros of the Beco Gemini: - lightweight and so simple to carry around in diaper bag and throw on and off. - Adjusts easily between my husband and I wearing it. - Has that contoured, close to baby hugging feel of a wrap carrier but with the ergonomic support and ease of a structured carrier. I was planning to give away my Gemini for a friend if I liked this 8, but honestly I'm keeping them both. I'll bring the Gemini for occasions when I expect I want to get baby in and out of the carrier often, quickly, without fuss (like today when we had a long day of doctors visits). The 8 will be for around the house naps or long walks where the benefits of the increased comfort outweigh the slight adjusting needed to get the support and fit just right (like later today when I needed to bring the baby with for a long dog walk in the snow).

I’m 5’4” and 125lbs and immediately loved the fit of the Beco 8 (and my 13lb baby did too!). I had a Lillebaby airflow but could never get it to fit well and caused my back to be sore after wearing my baby for 15 min. The Beco 8 is easy to use right out of the box (the included instructions suck, pictures only), the lumbar support is great and I could get the waistband much tighter than the lillebaby. I wear it with crossed back straps and it’s super supportive. The infant booster pillow is also a nice touch and my baby immediately falls asleep when I strap him in. It doesn’t come in any other colors but gray is fine with me and neutral so my husband is happy to wear it too. Love this carrier and so happy I got it on sale as I was holding back on purchasing initially because the full price is so much more than comparable carriers. I know people complain about the extra safety clip on Becos but this one only has it on the side straps and not the waistband clip. I got used to it really quickly and can now unclip with one hand. Lastly, changing from a wide seat to narrow is super simple- just snap back a flap on each side. With the lillebaby you have to take off the lumbar panel and slide off straps and then put back the lumbar panel. The Beco is so simple to use and most Importantly is very comfy for both me and my baby.

Estuve mirando muchos porteadores de precios asequibles e incluso compré uno que devolví porque era incómodísimo. Y sin duda estoy encantado con la compra de este. Fácil de usar, cómodo y bastante abierto para poder usarlo en verano. Obviamente en pleno agosto con 35 grados no va a ser fresco pero un rato se puede usar en los días de verano en España.

Fits well for a 5'2, 120 lb person (tightest settings). It is sturdy and gives good support to the baby where I could truly go hands free. I used a wrap for the earlier stages and decided to invest in something more sturdy for when the baby got larger. Baby at approx. 9lbs fits in it but can't see over the height of the carrier; will need to grow more for that. Baby sleeps in it comfortably when settings are set for a snug fit. Have not tried it in the heat but can see how it can get quite warm. I love that it comes with an infant insert that is attached to the carrier for easy use. Wonderful product for half the price of some of the more expensive carriers.

Für alle die noch überlegen: Die Trage lohnt sich wirklich. Wir benutzen sie seit fast einem Jahr. Am Anfang haben uns die ganzen Schnallen etwas verunsichert und sie ließen sich auch noch schwer verstellen, aber das legt sich schnell nach ein paar Mal benutzen. Die Rückenstütze ist wirklich super praktisch für längere Wege. Mein Baby sitzt wirklich gut an mir dran und zieht mich dadurch nicht so nach vorne wie in der Trage, die wir vorher hatten. Ich kann sie nur empfehlen. :)

Dopo mesi di utilizzo della fascia abbiamo deciso di provare con il marsupio per poter essere comodi fuori casa senza usare sempre il passeggino. Il materiale è ottimo e molto traspirante, il supporto lombare è fantastico perché non ti fa sentire in nessuno modo il peso del bambino (neanche con il mal di schiena)
