The test methods and results are "accredited though AIHA Laboratory Accreditation Programs (AIHA-LAP), LLC in the Industrial Hygiene accreditation program for GC/MS Field of Testing as documented by the Scope of Accreditation Certificate and associated Scope" (from their web site homeaircheck dot com). The testing options range from home level all the way up to EPA stack testing. These test kits are at the home level which is quality controlled to +- 20%. If you need a higher level I would call them as from my discussions with them they are very knowledgeable and very customer friendly. **Q: Does the test have minimal interference from other chemicals, such as VOCs or ozone?** A: This test kit only tests for Formaldehyde, they have another kit that I used to test for VOCs. there are always some VOCs around and when I asked the company they said that their test is not effected by other typical VOCs. **Q: Is the test based on a known method for assessing formaldehyde in air (i.e., NIOSH 3500)?** A: They use the NIOSH standards. The report gives you just a REL. I use these to confirm if their is formaldehyde and they work well. If positive I then use a more expensive test .
