They are a very good quality, which must be the reason for the relatively high price. They are less than twice the size of Matchbox/ Hot Wheels vehicles. They are very detailed with great craftsmanship. When various joints flex, the tiny pistons adjust. I've included a picture of them in a kinetic sand Monster jam arena where they fit perfectly.I recommend this for kids old enough not to swallow little pieces (not that any parts have come off yet). The metal vehicles feel solid and well-made - much sturdier than plastic alternatives. The dump truck, excavator, and backhoe all have moving parts that work smoothly. The set provides hours of imaginative play and the vehicles are a good size for toddler hands. However, there are a couple of downsides. First, some of the moving parts are a bit stiff and require more force than a young child can easily manage. Second, the paint on the vehicles started chipping after just a few weeks of regular play. The set doesn't come with much in terms of accessories or a play mat, which would have been nice. Despite these issues, it's still a decent construction toy set that encourages creative play.
