Great cast iron pan. ๐
Came in pre seasoned and had the handle protector for the heat. Have already used it 4 times and itโs a great cast iron pan. Also bought the matching lid for this pan. Donโt even put it up anymore. Sits on the stove top for next use.

Great pan
Love my big skillet! Nothing beats cooking in cast-iron pans. This is a good quality pan and I like the little extra handle cover they provide. Great pan, fair price.

Better than I expected
I've been using non-stick pans, usually purchased as part of a set, for most of my adult life. None of them lasted more than a few years. They all discolor and the nonstick surface gradually wears off. I decided to try a more traditional cast iron skillet. The Cuisinet was one of the less expensive skillets available from Amazon. It comes with a silicone sheath for the handle, which is a welcome feature. Because the handle is forged as a piece of the skillet, it gets just as hot as the rest of the skillet. You won't want to grip that silicone handle for very long with your bare hand when the skillet is hot, but I can use it long enough to dump the excess grease from the pan while it's still pour-able.I took some time when I first received the skillet to season it. This involved coating the skillet with vegetable oil and baking it upside down in a hot oven for a couple of hours. The result is a skillet with a mostly non-stick surface. My primary use for the skillet is frying bacon, eggs and hash browns, although I have used it for other dishes, as well. It heats evenly and I seldom have anything stick. Eggs lift right out of the pan without sticking. One key use tip is to refrain from using soap or detergent to clean the pan. I usually just wipe it out with a paper towel once the pan has cooled. Occasionally, I'll use plain water and a metal "chain mail" scrubber (I bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F76P97C) to remove cooked-on food. It's never taken me more than a few minutes to clean the skillet. One fortuitous benefit is that I found a glass lid for a non-stick pan I already had fits the Cuisinet skillet perfectly. I don't need the lid often, but it's nice to have one available.I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this product. I would buy one again, but it will probably outlast me.

Great from stove to oven
I bought this skillet so that I could go from the stovetop to the oven without transferring food to an oven proof dish. I seasoned it when it first arrived (even though it came pre-seasoned, I read reviews that said it was advisable to do so) and my first dish was a homemade pizza that I'd been dying to try. It came out wonderfully! It slid right out of the pan and was perfectly crunchy. I slid the silicone cover on the handle after removing it from the oven to make it easier to handle (although that did get extremely hot in a very short time and I had to use a pot holder anyway.) My only gripe is that it is quite heavy. With food in it, I have to use 2 hands to move it, so I am unable to hold it with one hand and get the food out with the other. Perhaps I am a weakling, but I'm 48 and workout with weights so I doubt it. Other than that, it's great for what I want it to do and I'm looking forward to many meals with it in the future.

Every kitchen must have one!
I love cooking with a skillet and I now own two of these, one for home and one for the cottage. The skillet comes with a silicone handle and a handy silicone scraper so you don't scratch the seasoned pan. Comes with a lid, which I highly recommend you have for a skillet.

Everyone should have a pan like this โ WTH the handle guard!
Iโve been working with just my regular pans and knew I would really use this pan. Love the handle-guard and the pan is well made, heavy as expected. Ramps up the look of cooked items. PreSeasoned, this size is perfect for about any cooking needed.

Season Pan Again before you cook
I received my new 12 inch pan yesterday, 03/21/2022. I was raised on Cast Iron Cooking pans and Potts. It looked ok out of the box, my Mother always told me that if you want a good meal out of this thing, you gotta season it even if you did it before you put it away. So I put some All Vegetable Shortening all over it after heating it up a bit just to melt the shortening. Put it in the oven at 375 Deg's F, until it stopped smoking in the oven. About 50 minutes at my altitude in Vegas 2300 ft. Then let it cool on it's own. This morning I pulled it out, put a little olive oil in the pan and cooked 5 pieces of bacon at a medium heat and then turn off the heat. Drained the bacon fat out of the pan carefully cause that suckers hot. put the pan back on the stove a put on a low heat and added some butter and fried 5 eggs over medium. eggs did not stick first cook out of the box. Reminded me off Mom and breakfast was awesome. No burnt eggs or bacon!!! People today don't think they have to work to make good food... Their wrong... Plus it didn't really take much time...

Great skillet , perfect for steaks
Very good skillet, perfect for steaks, as it holds the heat very well. Less smoke and more taste. If the cleaning instructions are followed, this skillet last for a long time. I have mine for quite a long time now, using almost every day, and still looking as new.

Perfect 12" pan
I had to choose between a wok and this for stir frying. For storage this was better as it nests with the other pans. I already own a 10" and I love the non stick and browning properties, but for the quantity of food I cook I really need a 12". On the day I received it I immediately put it to use after 20 minutes quick seasoning on high. I made a cabbage stir fry and you have to work fast if you don't want anything to burn, so I liked that... Normally I leave it for a couple minutes to brown so you have to change your style of cooking. I really like the high sides, the absolute flat bottom, and the fact it is pre seasoned. The silicone sleeve was nice and the handle on the opposite side is great. The finish is not smooth but a uniform roughness all over which did not affect the non stick quality. With a cast iron pan you do have to put some work into maintaining it and it is very heavy. Yes it will rust if you do not take care of it. If this sounds like too much effort I highly recommend you stick with ultralight Teflon pans.I'm pleased with the value of the item overall for the quality I'm getting. Looking forward to taking this camping.
