Competent and detailed performer.
I find this fitness / health tracking watch very good with many many functions. Its display is very clear and gives current status at a glance. Battery life seems good so far giving around a week per charge although it probably varies depending what is active and for how long. Its a comfortable wear for a bloke and I like the strap tucking under leaving no ends to catch everything. It takes several days to get all that it does and then some so steep learning curve! I would prefer a 'go back button' along with the main one rather than how it does its thing as some functions change without an exit option - the app is busy (now google health) lots of info there. I bought this as a Health monitor mainly as don't really do fitness, it has some very useful health functions inc. irregular heart, ECG and Afib detection capability on board which I wanted and those come with accreditation so trusted too (it is obviously excellent for fitness too though with full functions including access to a AI coach) Awesome!

Great for what I need from a tracker
I upgraded to sense 2 from a 7 year old Charge 2 and I have to say I love it. It does everything I personally need from a fitness tracker. Battery life lasts 6 days most of the time but can be less if using your gps. Some of the advanced features with the free trial of Fitbit premium drain the battery. I did have one glitch where the battery drained over night but I removed sp02 tracking and daily readiness, and it then went back to normal at 6 days. The ECG function is good and gps worked well when I tested it on a 9 mile walk. You have to physically turn on gps in the exercise settings which is fine, otherwise it drains the battery a bit. Yes it takes a minute or so to kick in and you can tell once it’s on as the little gps arrow is red whilst kicking in and white once on. Steps are accurate, as are the floor counting. I can take calls on my watch (once I linked it to sense 2 calls on Bluetooth) which is great as you never miss a call if you’ve left your phone in another room etc Obviously you can’t make calls or texts from it as it’s not linked to a phone contract, but I find it useful to be able to take the calls and the sound on it was fine. I personally love the Fitbit app, and the way the calorie tracking and targets work. It is glitchy occasionally but what app isn’t? That really doesn’t faze me as the data is on your watch and always syncs again once the app is fixed as long as you don’t reboot your watch during that time. In 7 years of using Fitbit I have only ever had a handful of issues with the app. The ability to change clock faces is good but it would be nice if there were more that showed battery life as a lot of them don’t. Overall, a good tracker but if you are a massive fitness fanatic who wants a lot more of the advance features some have like fall detection, quicker gps, ability to make calls etc then you may want to opt for another brand of Watch. For me though, the sense 2 is perfect for what I need.

Good improvement but still feels like lacking in the smart watch area
Fitbit has improved quite alot and I am impressed with the features of the watch, There is some delay sometimes in transfering the data between the phone and the watch which happened few times with Whatsapp and email notifications. The activity tracker is really good and can predict to a good level what you are doing, probably you need to trigger it sometimes but then it will learn and notify you to activities automaticallyI like the simple sleek designHeart rate sometimes requires a bit of tight fit but never found it to be annoying, It works nice for me, I have a bit of hairy hands still it works nicelyI am struggling to find some functions as the interface is not as user friendly as smart watches. I appreciate it is a tracker and not a smart watch but if that feature can be improved then I am definite that lots of people will buy this trackerI would like it to have some connectivity to machines similary to charge 6 as this will help alot in exercise monitoringI had a Fitbit Charge 3 before, moved to Samsung watch then now back again to Fitbit,I still miss the smart watch simplicity and ease of use and finding apps in comparison to this trackerall in all I will give it 4/5. I still like it alot but I think Fitbit can still improve it a bit

Works well, especially the new features.
This was bought to replace a Fitbit Sense 1 which had broken. The Sense 1 was always a little finicky. Sometimes it wouldn't charge, sometimes it'd only charge halfway. The sense 1's footstep detector was wildly inaccurate. About the only thing it did well was the heartbeat thing, which was quite accurate. The Sense 2 fixes a lot of these issues, and makes for a faster, smoother experience. The Sense 1 would lag occasionally when swiping, but the Sense 2 doesn't. It's a better watch all round, I think. We both, originally, paid for the subscription, but it just didn't seem to give us anything worthwhile. Apps like Zombies Run! give you fun, cool things to do to get fit. Other apps give you recipes, or fitness ideas, or reminders etc... I just feel that the fitbit ecosystem has stagnated a little and they're just selling smartwatches/fitness trackers without evolving the experience. So, there's one thing that's the same with both, and it's still a disappointment, the app:The thing that annoyed me about the Sense 1 was that it constantly had a "disconnected from phone" icon on the screen, despite the phone sitting RIGHT THERE. What's the point of having a smart watch that can control the phone, if it only works if the app is loaded and showing on the phone's screen?I can count on one finger the number of times that I've had the Fitbit app loaded, and someone's tried to call me, and I've been able to answer it using the smart watch. The sense 2 does the same. Despite having the App on the phone, it still doesn't detect the phone unless the app is loaded. And sometimes you'll load the app, and it'll take ages for it sync with the watch, despite the watch being in the active bluetooth devices list.I know Bluetooth is a bit flakey, and not all devices are equal when it comes to supporting different profiles, but I would have thought the one thing the watch was supposed to do (exchange information with the app) would have been sorted. The watch was for my wife, and she's had no problems with it so far. She likes the features, but doesn't use much of the additional functionality. She occasionally loads the fitbit app to sync the data and see how she's been doing. but, if I'm honest, I think the App needs a major overhaul. She shouldn't have to take the watch off, and lie it next to the phone for ten minutes to sync for her to know how many steps she's taken, or for the most useful information to be buried under a dropdown, which is in a tab, under a graph, which is about four scrolls down. The app has most of what you need, but it could do with a little of a redesign I think... Perhaps find a way to let people configure their dashboard, both in the app, and on the notifications, or widgets on the home screen.

Absolute unusable rubbish
Ok, where to start.Firstly, the watch battery lasts about 2 days. It doesn't have Google maps and when I spoke with Fitbit they told me to "install and have a good day" very professional.I tried it for walking, but activated the walk from the watch and ended up with literally no map information. Later discovered GPS has to be set to active via the watch.Sleep information won't show your heartbeat info without an £8 a month subscription. This is an important piece of information and as it is effectively my personal, sensitive information and as I bought the hardware to record it, then the information should be free to me and not held to ransom. It's funny how the app has to be connected to the internet inorder to function. This means Fitbit have my person information, but is charging me to see it... Surely, my sensitive information should be via my phone and not via a Fitbit server‽ I have to wonder why anyone but me needs my physical stats and more importantly, why!It isn't waterproof in so far as the capacitive screen goes crazy in the shower and crashes the phone, needing hard reset. It's very cheep feeling!Quite simply, out of the 4 smart watches I have had, Xiaomi, withings, amazfit have to say Fitbit is rubbish and most certainly not fit for purpose.I have had very satisfaction from this pointless piece of tat!!!Update: after a firmware, the watch no longer attached to my phone unless the app is active. This means "find my phone and notifications do not work" I truly hate this watch!!!! Do not buy, I guarantee you will be disappointed and annoyed with it!!!!

Fitbit sense 2
I intend just a brief review as I am new to the type of digital media that I am reviewing. My requirement was for a heart monitor app that comes with a Fitbit sense 2.To begin with I must point out that I have never owned a smart phone or smart devices. The product on the Fitbit site did not seem to specify the requirement of a smart phone. The Amazon product info for the item was low down and in small print where it was stated that you will require a smart phone but I missed it . The phone was £219.00 and a few days later became 179.00.I realised that the Fitbit would not work at all without a smart phone. Kayz who sold the item answered my question by stating all smart watches require a smart phone - thanks. This caused the purchase of a 1200.00 smart phone. As a complete newbie to using a smart phone I must therefore state that the Fitbit app on an apple phone was very user friendly and I figured it out a (fit) bit at a time.I am well into 1400.00 at this point and find upon trying to install the AF app (heart app) that if I have had health problems then I must cancel the app install and not use it. Thanks. Where was that in the info.To cut a long story short - the Fitbit works great and works really great with my iphone BUT I still had to buy a Kardia device (something else that needs a phone but at least they tell you) in order to get what I originally wanted.£1550.00 later and I am all set. Now the fitbit can apparently warn me of possible heath situations that I am interested in via notifications which is great but if I really needed this kit and was short of money then I am not sure of how good that would make me feel. Were in a new age now where a £1200 phone and a £200.00 watch DON'T come with instructions. One relies on big socialism to save the corporations from tedious time wasting on silly things like instructions.I knew how to configure wireless networks the hard way in 2002 so it came as no surprise to get the phone hooked into the internet and get the 2 devices `paired` up and the smart watch downloading so it could work but how is a pensioner expected to setup a smartphone and email to setup a smart watch. Ok if they have a smart phone already then modern software is very clever at prompting the user but this equipment should come with a health warning. I have blue tooth savy wifi mates that haven't got on with this device but I have to say I like it , I can and have spoken to this ALEXIA on the watch and find the watch strap (odd as it is) to be secure and comfortable. Once you have downloaded loaded the info to make the watch work you will be able to use some of its benefits independently. The watch seems to have no hard off ability and I am unsure of the battery life that when it ends will render it useless no doubt.

Great
I love this so much! Easy to use!One negative is that my barclaycard doesnt want to link, but my starling one is fine. I don't use it for that reason though, and everything else works well

Overpriced Smart(ish) Tracker - Buy something else
Quick Summary - The features you are getting with this watch are NOT worth the price point. You can’t even control your music or download 3rd party apps. The health tracking features are available on other watches for less. Also Fitbit premium means that its arguably best selling point of in depth health stats becomes locked behind a monthly paywall after the trial. If you want an exclusive fitness tracker and don’t care much about ‘smart’ features (eg Google Maps), if you really want a Fitbit (getting worse because of their google ownership trying to sell Pixel watches instead) get the Charge 5 (£100 and pretty much the same features for half the price), or a Garmin (better at tracking exercises/health metrics). If you care about smart features as well as health tracking, (for Android) get a Pixel Watch (2nd hand around £150)/Galaxy Watch 4/5 or (for Apple) get the Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) for slightly more money. It is a shame but there’s no really argument or selling point for this watch, as the price does it no favours. You can either get pretty much the same for less money, or spend slightly more and get a whole lot more. Apart from being comfy to wear and looking good on my wrist, it was just an overpriced tracker. (I returned it)In Depth Review-I really did want to like this watch. From what I’ve seen Google really stripped it to the absolute barebones that it can be, to the point where there’s no real reason to this watch over a Charge 5 for half the price, for example. The Heart rate tracker seemingly worked fine, I don’t have anything to compare it with but readings didn’t seem too unrealistic/inconsistent enough to be considered inaccurate. GPS was definitely hit or miss, 1 run the watch had recorded the route going all over the place, whereas the next recorded run (doing the same route) was perfectly tracked. The sleep tracker was interesting, something I checked each morning for the few days that I had the watch on, but I could see that feature over time be checked less and less. As for the other features, I pretty much forgot that they existed, as personally those stats didn’t interest me as much as I thought they would. Also take into account, if you’re still using this watch after the 6 month trial, the in-depth readings will be locked away from you unless you pay monthly for the premium subscription. The battery life was very good. I wore it for 6 days, with a recorded run, walk or weightlifting session pretty much every day. It ended up with about 20% left when I took it off to return it.There are no 3rd party apps, Google Maps being the only non Fitbit one. Maps worked ok, but was pretty unclear at times. It would for some reason remove how far you have until the next direction, so you could either be walking in a straight line for 20 minutes or 2 minutes and have no way of telling which, without looking at your phone (kind of eliminates the point of the watch). Also, in my experience, it didn’t let me know that I had arrived so I ended up walking past my destination a couple of times. You don’t actually see a map like on other smartwatches too. I think it is too unreliable for me to properly trust for regular usage.Watch faces are ok, there are a lot of them but some need to be purchased. On the main watch face, the weather would often be just displayed as “—°” even after syncing to my phone numerous times. Occasionally notifications would stop coming through. You can either have the display as ‘always on’ or activated by a button, which was sometimes inconvenient if I wanted to just check the time whilst something was in my other hand. The watch was comfy to wear and would be easy to forget about once on your wrist. It didn’t irritate my skin at all.Overall, it is a good watch and I was going to keep it, but after talking about watches with a friend I ended up looking more on Amazon and just finding out how lacklustre it is for the price. I returned it to get an Apple Watch, which will have all the fitness features I used on this watch and more because of 3rd party app support. If that does not interest you, save your money and get a Charge or a Garmin.

Great watch, highly recommend!!
Really like this watch. Very function, looks slick & battery lasts for just over a week. Great for tracking your steps, heart rate and general exercise activities. Recommend for all users. The sleep tracking is great also.
