I'm on the fence...** A: Hi. The decision is personal. I own the 60 pencil set in the tin case as well. It's excellent to have for traveling and has taken quite a beating. The case is dented all over w/paint scratched off. Owning all 120 colors in a beautiful wooden case that shows you all of the pencils with the opening of a hinge was to me a collector's item; a special treat for myself and so I used my tax refund. Again, a personal decision but I love my wooden case. **Q: what color is the box? It looks kinda black in the picture?** A: Mine is dark mahogany brown. To me, the contents of the box is more important. **Q: Are these oil or water based?** A: According to my daughter, these are oil based. **Q: what is the size of the box** A: 57.5 CM long by 28 CM wide (32 CM wide including the beautiful brushed nickel handle.
