High Quality
This is an excellent watering can. It is well made and I like the comfortable real wood handle on the bail.

Heavy duty watering can, no leaking (mine has detachable rosette, not all do)
I'm very happy with the 2 1/2 gallon watering can I received. I was initially a bit hesitant to purchase it at a cost of approximately $47.00 (when I placed my order last June). I had one exactly like this back in the 70's and I remember it was $6.95, ha, ha! It might even have been the same brand. The watering can I received might have been an older model as the rosette is removable. I see that some of the newer ones are not. The can has been outside in the sun since June (it is now December and I'm still using it for my winter garden -- we live where temperatures rarely get below freezing). and it has held up perfectly with no leaks, no problems with taking off or replacing the rosette (although I did find out that spiders seem to like to living in the spout near the rosette which was a bit of a shock). It is rather heavy and feels very durable. I was actually looking for the larger 3-gallon version, but I'm glad I didn't find it because this one is about all I can handle these days. I really like the rustic look, too. I find this to be a very practical purchase as it is much tougher than several smaller, flimsier galvanized metal cans I purchased before I found this one. I would definitely buy this again.

Solved my garden watering needs...
I have a fairly large garden, with a couple small greenhouses and am on a water well. For the most part, I let the rain water outside, but I struggled with greenhouse watering for a couple reasons. I wasn't willing to spend the time standing there with the hose as often as needed. AND it's hard to know how much water is being distributed with a hose. And I didn't want to overtax my well. I'm not sold on drip tapes at this point. The 3 gallon watering can has improved my situation considerably. I set my hose nozzle to "vertical" and at that setting, it takes 40 minutes to fill a blue 30 gallon recycling can. That doesn't overtax my well and I do other things while it fills. Once full, I use a 5 gallon bucket to fill the watering can 10 times. I know exactly how much water I'm adding to the greenhouse and I can distribute it evenly to the beds. It works out to about 1/2 inch of water for my beds, and I try to do it twice a week. What I like about this can is that it's strong, large, and has a very large opening for filling with a bucket. As delivered, it took a little over 2 minutes to empty it. However, I enlarged the holes in 5 minutes with a cordless drill and slightly larger bit. Now I empty the can in 50 seconds and walking erect with the can down, I can water the entire 30" bed width. So I can water my greenhouse beds with 30 gallons of water in about 20 minutes, and know that I have done an excellent job of distributing the water. And with the larger holes, I never have clogs, although I make an effort keep debris out of the 30 gallon can and the bucket. If you drill larger holes, make sure you don't overdo it. Try it as is, and if you want faster flow, move to a very slightly large bit and try that.

Funtional but not pretty
The can is mfg. in Mexico with approx. 14 gauge sheet metal. The coating appears to be hot dipped galvanizing performed after the can is mfg. prior to installation of the nozzle and wire handle, so all the seams of the can are sealed and galvanize coated, The hot dipped galvanizing is rather rough to the touch in spots. The wire handle is made with approx #2 gauge smooth galv. wire with a plastic grip. The galvanized steel spray nozzle has coarse threads and is removable, with a little effort, from the can spigot. The spray pattern of the nozzle seems rather coarse but seems pretty even for a gravity feed nozzle. The coarse pattern seems less susceptible to clogging compared to a finer pattern. I use this can outdoors for spot watering/ liquid fertilizing. It easily holds 2 gallons of liquid. There are no embossed liquid graduations on the can to aide mixing but with a little practice and calibration the grooved rings on the can body can be set up and used for calibrating fluid levels. During its first use I noted a small leak between the threads of the spray nozzle and the can spigot. This leak was easily corrected with a light coat of non-hardening pipe sealant on the threads, the pipe sealant also eases the removal of the nozzle. My can arrived within three days. It arrived with a small dent in the side which is cosmetic and does not affect the function of the can. I deducted 1 star for the small leak, noted earlier and the dent. I bought the can for outdoor functionality and that criterion it meets very well. While it's not the prettiest watering can I have, the can suits my needs and seems to be a good value for the money.

Perfect watering can!
This 2 1/2 gallon watering can is perfect for all our watering needs here on our very small urban homestead. We'd had a problem with raccoons chewing holes in the plastic ones, this metal can solved that problem. Living out west it is windy, very windy, this can doesn't blow away as easily with water in it. The spout is great and the handle on the side makes carrying and pouring much easier. The perfect can, I recommend getting this one.

Well made
I use the watering can daily. The two handles make it easy to use. One handle for carrying the can and the other for tilting it to water the plants. No leaks have been seen and no rust.

Great "old school" watering can
I was looking for a good, old fashioned, solidly built watering can to replace the plastic ones we had that kept breaking, as well as the galvanized one that finally started to rust out after many years of service. It was surprisingly difficult to find a good, basic, large watering can. Everything I saw in most places was small and cutesy. Not this watering can. It has a large capacity (at 2 1/2 gallons), is solidly built, and looks like something you'd see on a working farm. This isn't a pretty toy - it's a big ol' galvanized watering can. It's like the Ford 350 of watering cans. I like it because it can carry 2 1/2 gallons which prevents me from having to keep filling it up every 2 minutes to water our many outdoor potted plants. For some, the large capacity may be a bit of a deterrent (that's why I rated its "maneuverability" as 4 stars) if it's filled up all the way because 2 1/2 gallons ain't light. But you don't HAVE to fill it up all the way, right? If you're looking for a very well-made, large capacity watering can, look no further. You've found it.
